The Art of Collaboration

I am so joy-filled that I spend much of my time collaborating on projects with people I respect and I get to play with so many great minds and people of great talent. It brings me joy to work on many things and because I am willing to partner and to play with others, I can do more in the world and serve people in bigger and better ways.

I am parterning on co-authoring books, programs, products, trainings, seminars and some other BIG things I am keeping under wraps for now;)

If you are an entrepreneur or person who is a wanna-be-entrepreneur, I believe you need these skills and also need to have a few passive income streams.

If you don't, you'll be swimming upstream hard all the time while the rest of us are floating and enjoying the sun and the drinks!

Come on, party like a smart entrepreneur!

I am a Great Aunt once again:)

I am thrilled that my nephew David and his wife Stephanie have given birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl. David was sending pictures right from the delivery room so I felt like I got to be there with them. My niece Huldah did the texting when the baby was coming, so David didn't have to!

They live out in Nevada which is lucky for me, since we go there many times a year and we are going again in a few weeks.

I can't wait to see them and the baby! It is so exciting to be an Aunt and a Great Aunt! I have such joy!

We are all blessed.

Took a Walk Outside... a Miracle:)

After being stuck indoors and in casts and in wheelchairs and using walkers, today, after 7 months, I took a walk outdoors by myself! It was soooooooooooooo wonderful hearing the birds sing and seeing the flowers blooming and smelling grass and trees. Five deer crossed the road in front of me, too!

I looked at each stream and each flower and each site I saw and deeply took it in and gave thanks for the awesome things we get to experience and be blessed with on this planet and for me recovering so that I could walk outside once again!

I am grateful.

Wacky Trip To DC

I don't even know where to begin writing this and am laughing so hard as I try to do so! I had the wildest and wackiest trip to Washington, DC this past week! I know you won't get all the humor reading this as it was one of those "you had to be there" things, yet I feeeeeeeeeeeel you will still enjoy it.

Ok, so 3 women are in a car from Philly to DC... a 3 to 3 and 1/2 hour car ride. Imagine that they get lost after Baltimore and their navigation system is broken and keeps giving them wrong directions and saying we still have 5 more hours to drive, when we are within 60 minutes maximum. So, we ditch the navigation system and get close to DC. Now we find out we actually need to go to Arlington and get to Pentagon City. We keep missing the exits and pass Pentagon City over and over again. Now it is late and we are all laughing. We've had no food and have been in the car for over 4 and 1/2 hours already.

We finally take an exit that says Pentagon... once we get on the ramp, it actually says "Pentagon: Official Deliveries Only"... we come to the front of the Pentagon which is surrounded by barriers and police! We stop to look at the Pentagon and then decide we better take off before we get arrested!

Now we land in DC and are driving in circles around the monuments and at this point we just make turns any old place!

We finally get into Pentagon City and can't find the hotel. We go past where it is said to be, over and over and over again... Finally, 3 hysterical women, laughing and laughing see a few people walking. We stop them and ask them if they have seen the hotel around and they say, "we are tourists from Philly"!

Believe it or not, we got to the hotel (about 5 or 5 and 1/2 hours after we left Philly!!) and even better than that, we actually made it home!

Soul Coaching™

I have been working with a group of people on a process I call Soul Coaching™ and I am getting such great pleasure helping them create and re-create their lives from their soul purpose and life vision and inner mission. When coaching people to know what they want deep in their soul, which is very different than typical coaching, people discover their real needs and wants and find their authentic selves and inner voices. They begin to live their lives trusting their inner feeeeeeeelings and find joy easily. Flow is created and the Laws of the Universe combine to bring them what they desire and feeeeeeeeeeeeel about most. I am profoundly and deeply touched by the results my clients have achieved and know that the Soul Coaching™ process I have developed is the way to create inner truth and discovery.

I want for YOU to go inside and open up and discover who really lives in your body and mind... not the pretend person behind the mask!

People Don't Resist Change

Ok, here is a key concept that I get my corporate clients to fully digest. People don't resist change... what they resist is other people trying to change them. Whenever you want employees to flow with change you need to involve every person in your organization. We create "town meetings" where the CEO gets together once a month with all employees and asks for their opinions, their fears, their hopes and their suggestions. When you involve your employees to be part of the change process you aren't asking them to change you are making them part of the changes.

This is usually overlooked when companies try to make changes of any size within their organizations. One of the first things I do with the companies I coach is to fully and deeply explain this concept to them so they can embrace it and then we can all act on it.

Transformation Teams For Business Success

Part of the Stop Managing Start Coaching process that I wrote about in my bestselling book by the same name is about transformation teams. I am a strong believer that when people, from all levels of an organization come together and form teams, they can mastermind to create the best ideas for change and the best ways to create more success for the organization.

In my business coaching engagements I set up the teams and begin to faciliate them for a few months until there is a natural progression where the teams actually take over this process themselves. I set up the ground rules and coach when necessary and then train the others to use coaching skills and problem solving techniques and teach them about change and how organizations make changes.

One of my greatest joys as a business coach is seeing how the transformation teams break down the barriers inherent in organizations and truly transform the culture of the company!

The Culture of Organizations

In my work with organizations for the past 20 plus years, the idea of culture is one that is typically unknown to the ways organizations think. Culture is the way the majority of the employees experience work. Most managers can't tell me how employee's feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel in their work experience and they don't know why employee's don't produce better results, get along better and communicate more. When I ask if employee's feeeeeeeeeeeel valued and respected, I always get, "Yes".

When I ask employee's...it is a different story that I hear.

As I work with organizations coaching them to success I show them how a simple and inexpensive idea that an employee brings forth as a suggestion can shift employee attitudes.

What one shift can your organization make today that is fully employee generated?

Coaching for Business Transformation

As a business coach, executive coach and corporate leadership coach and best selling author of Stop Managing, Start Coaching I know that when a company brings in coaching it must be an initiative of 2 years. When I first meet with a company I devise a 2 year strategic plan where we look at what area of the organization transformation shall begin with. We co-create the selection of department/s based upon which segment of the company has the very best chance for the highest success.

We also look at what is needed to achieve their goals in terms of things like financial resources, talent resources, education and training resources, etc. And finally we look at all company systems to determine how we will systematically begin this process and keep this process moving.

Part of my process is to identify resource people called transformation teams within the organization. This team of people will become internal "coaches" continuing to guide employees and carry out the coaching initiative. Transformation teams set the company up for success by creating a coaching culture.

Leadership: The Quality Elements

While training a sales force and management team of a hospital recently, we spent a full day engaged in powerful processes and activities and learning to create an attitude and culture of quality. Quality can't be delegated; it can be lead by people in organizations who are focused on helping and assisting the organization to overcome problems.

We have 4 more days of training and then a 2 year coaching engagement and what jazzed me is that after just ONE day, these folks got the key points and on a very deep level. They embraced new skills and processes and they created solutions. I left knowing that the quality they desire will occur for them as they are feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling the quality elements resonating fully for them!

Ah, I so love working with businesses of all sizes and doing this work worldwide. What an hoor to be part of something that enhances people and business... a perfect fit.

Doing Business in Today's World

In order for companies in the United States to prosper, it is essential for them to shift from management to coaching. World competition is fierce and those companies that have created new models to run their companies are the survivors.

Most businesses in the United States continue to try to manage people. This is what is still taught in almost all MBA programs and it doesn't work. The chain of command model, or a military model, where people have to reach certain goals or results is dead. Workers, managers and supervisiors have figured out how to play games to look busy and as if they are striving for the goals.

This is short term thinking that sets up internal conflict and employee fear and cares little about the customer.

It is time to Stop Managing, Start Coaching. When I wrote this bestselling book a few years ago it was based on my work with corporations worldwide who realized the model they were using wasn't working and were open minded to a new model. They embrassed quality leadership and realized happy employees are more productive and when they are more productive the company has higher profits.

If you haven't read the book, I recommend you do and you read the examples from real companies right in the front of the book.

The CEO 13 X Process

In my professional capacity, I have owned my own businesses, held executive roles in corporations, and for the last five years, seen that a new level of coaching needed to evolve - one that no business coach or business consultant was using, no coach training school was teaching, and that was unique and special for CEO’s.

Today’s CEO can no longer be satisfied with just being a figure-head and needs to be more proactive and is often working with a team of directors or senior managers who were not necessarily of his choosing. Today’s CEO is held more accountable than ever before, and that the CEO position is more tenuous than it has ever been in the past is evident by the increasingly high turnover of CEO’s in large companies. A CEO’s success depends on the cooperation and ability of his team of Managers. The CEO needs to know how to get the best out of his management team, how to motivate them, and how to lead them. He needs their respect and desire to follow his lead.

I understand what it is like to be a CEO, and my clients, who are CEO’s, come to me because I offer them a process that uses a breakthrough technique. The technique I have created transforms how CEO’s manage and how their managers manage, which ultimately creates more profitability for the company. This is not ordinary coaching or management training, but a focused process specifically designed for the CEO position.

The CEO 13 X Process is the strategy you need to work with the psychology of managers and motivating them. It is not a coaching or management model, as those models are for the average person. CEO’s need a different process. To lead a company successfully, CEO’s need their management team to buy into THEM before they will buy into the CEO’s ideas. You are not a leader if nobody will follow you, or does so half-heartedly or begrudgingly.

I believe typical executive coaches and coaching programs for corporations are great for what they do. However, they don’t do enough and they aren’t useful to CEO’s. CEO 13 X goes above and beyond and is the only comprehensive process for the 13 behavioral patterns that have to change and incorporates the replacement strategies to implement to make a company function at a higher level. Every strategy and process needed, that has never before been taught, trained or shared, is part of the CEO 13 X Process.

Why CEO 13 X?

Corporations worldwide acknowledge the benefits of training ground-level workers, supervisors and managers, but to date, the CEO has been overlooked. That a system is needed for CEO’s is self-evident from my own professional experience with my clients.

It is my belief that management training, coaching, and most programs, books and seminars, don’t understand the CEO and often are full of theory that can’t be applied.

When I identified the 13 behavioral patterns through my work with clients, I realized no one else had documented this or was working with CEO’s to implement the strategies necessary. I decided to remove this from the “too hard basket” and create CEO 13 X, which may be difficult to grasp in a special report, and yet has clearly demonstrated it is easy to apply and get results.

These tools are the best of the best and have stood the test of time – I have used them for over 2 decades and also have clients using them with great success. CEO 13 X has been field-tested and is a proven transformational process. Technology may change, job roles may change… but people remain people, and people are the tools with which CEO’s work.

The CEO 13 X Process

There are 13 components to the CEO 13 X process. Each one is complex and depends on the next process as they work in harmony.

The components are:

1. Anti-management thinking
2. Building an emotional/behavioral framework
3. Creating healthy work rituals
4. Self-scripting
5. Self-coaching
6. Moving through irrational beliefs
7. Building trust
8. Increasing vulnerability
9. Accepting personal responsibility
10. Powerful problem solving
11. Using power and control with grace
12. The ECM communication model
13. Powerful languaging

The impact of these 13 strategies working in synergy creates more productivity and more dynamic and successful companies. Fully understanding the 13 processes takes time and are learned together as a chain. When you learn one process fully, then you integrate it with the others to develop the transformation in your company. This is not taught anywhere else and is not designed for a senior manager. The process is specific to CEOs and has impacted them to better motivate managers.

The system is based on helping CEO’s shift their thinking quickly away from management thinking and to the how-to's of creating in managers a solid emotional and behavioral framework. Once the CEO is no longer following traditional management methods, and has learned the system for evolving managers emotionally and behaviorally, then we develop in the managers the healthy work rituals they need.

As we move into the areas of self-scripting and self-coaching, the CEO typically sees managers’ motivation shift dramatically. The process works fast to move managers away from irrational beliefs and to create more trust and the ability to increase vulnerability, which leads managers to feel better about themselves and achieve more.

The CEO’s can now work on the manager’s outer presence in how to accept greater personal responsibility. In fact, problem solving becomes effortless for the managers and they also balance their power and control.

The final components of the CEO 13 X model comes from the ECM (Extraordinary Coaching Methods) communication model I created, which has been well documented in my bestseller, “Stop Managing, Start Coaching!”.

The ECM communication model is the model I used to create motivation leading to increased productivity and profitability in the companies I worked with and is the proprietary model I have been teaching to CEO’s for years. Its success is well documented. Within the CEO 13 X, it fits like a glove and establishes how to use powerful language to create a company and managers working at a new level.
