The Power of Thoughts

A thought has a significant impact on our body, mind, and spirit. Thoughts influence our feeeeeeeeeeeeelings and emotions. When you choose positive thoughts, you choose positive results.

Our human brains are specialists in focusing on the negative and watching out for what "might" happen. This negative thinking is an addiction many people are afflicted with.

In my experience the top reason to have your own coach is to change your thoughts from the inside out so you can live a life that is positive. This frees you up to more joy, more love, more ease, more health and more wealth.

Looking Out

In the past three weeks I have been outdoors three times: twice to go to the hospital and once to the Dr. I look out each day and notice the sun, clouds, birds, squirrels, trees, grass and flowers and am appreciating all of nature from indoors. I imagine sunshine on my body and laying in the grass and hearing the birds. I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel nature inside me and am filled with appreciation for beauty.

My Angel

I am so blessed to have a caring and compassionate home health aide. Patricia does everything from sponge bathing me, shampooing my hair, shaving me, putting lotion on me, dressing me and making me feel comfortable. She always has a big smile and makes me smile, too. I feel very blessed to have this Angel and grateful that there are people willing to come to others homes, for minimal pay, to serve and assist others from a place of caring.

I will never forget her service and how much I look foward to her visits and how much better I feel after a visit from my angel!

I am grateful.

So What Is The Message?

When I was a kid my Grandmother always used to say, "God works in mysterious ways". I never fully understood what she meant. Then my Mom kept saying, "it is fate". I sort of understood these two wise women, but not with great depth.

As I have learned during my 48 years on this planet, there is a plan, and it is not our plan... something greater than us selects this plan and often it gets in our way, and is always there for some reason... I have been asking myself things like:
Why does my gentle and loving cousin have MS which has destroyed her life?
Why did my Mom leave the planet so young, suffering so greatly?
Why has one of my friend's spouses left the marriage and the children overnight?
Why am I in bed with a full cast?

And, on and on it goes.

And I've been hearing the answers... simply that we can't explain these things yet need to have faith, believe and accept.

Quiet and Still

Many people have been asking me what my leg injury means to me. First, it means to work on being further grounded and more with my first chakra. Second it means to slow down. And now I am also getting I need to be quiet and still. Moving slowly, being still and being quiet are not things in my daily routine... I should say were not... I am letting them in and getting my lessons from this injury each day. Interesting it is my achilles, yes?

Passing the Time

Boy am I grateful I can do my work while my ruptured achilles is healing. I am in my wheelchair with a little table holding up my laptop and phone so I can do my work and speak to my clients. I am so happy to have the freedom to work from home and to have passive income so the days when the pain is too great I can shut down and income still flows in.

Healing

Great news! My cousin with MS is making progress and we spoke over the weekend. She called to see how I am doing with my full leg cast and how my pain was... how ridiculous I felt... here I am dealing with a temporary situation and here she is dealing with a lifetime of illness... puts everything in perspective, yes?

Notes and Cards

One of the greatest joys of being a coach is receiving notes, cards, letters and emails from clients and students thanking me for my coaching, training or programs. It brings me such joy and satisfaction to know I am making an impact on others and doing work that has value.

Everyday I am thankful I choose the coaching profession as a way to serve and know that I am doing what my heart and soul is called to. Realizing people appreciate the work I do is the icing on the cake.

I am filled with gratitude for my clients and students and customers who allow me to touch their lives.

911

September 11 is the date of my late Grandmother's birthday. Now it is the date that I connect to lives lost tragically by some people who know only hate. I thought about my Grandmother yesterday and held fond loving memories of her and then I held loving energy for all those impacted by 911 and hoped that love would also come to those filled with hatred. It isn't just one race or culture... it isn't a bad country... it is a problem in our world that many live with hate and anger. My wish is for people of all kinds to experience and feeeeeeeeeeeeel and desire peace. Where there is peace there can be no inner thoughts of hatred.

Orthopedic Problem

Doing my usual workout which I enjoy so much, I heard a very, very loud explosion. Looked behind me and nothing was there. Then I realized the noise came from inside my leg! I could no longer stand up. After 5 hours in the emergency room I was diagnosed with a ruptured achilles. In soooooooooooooo much pain morphine and percocet did nothing at all:(

Went to surgeon the next day and he said it is torn and I also shredded another muscle in my calf.

Went for MRI the next day... another 5 hour wait:( Anyway, they confirmed the rupture but that I did it the opposite way they typically tear. Going to surgeon on Thursday and will find out what is happening next.

Sounds like surgery, 12 wks of full leg cast and a full yr. of rehab. Pretty painful and really interrupting my usual life and work flow... another part of life's chaos that I will need to deal with.

Sad News:(

While I was away on business and vacation last week, my dog, Sheba, had to be put to sleep. I am not sure if she feel down the steps or what happened. She was home with my dad and he found her in the morning crying and laying full out at the bottom of the steps unable to move and in great pain, crying loudly.

He could not lift her and had to wait until the workers doing our remodeling showed up and they put her in his car so he could bring her right to the emergency vet down the street.

The vet gave her a steroid shot and then said she was becoming paralyized and suffering and so he had to make the difficult decision of letting her go.

I miss her and keep looking for her to sit here in my office with me.

She was a lovely animal and I feel blessed we had her for so many years bringing love and joy to our household.
