I am Giving Away FREE Coach Training!!

I am giving away a FREE coaching training course. That is right, you have the opportunity to have a full scholarship to earn a Certificate as a Life Coach!

If you have always wanted to learn to be a coach but weren't sure where to train or if you'd be good at it or even like it, I am giving you a great opportunity to discover what it takes to be a coach and to learn coaching skills for FREE.

I am planning on giving a two day course to teach you coaching.

I have charged as much as $5,000 for this course in the past and am offering this scholarship program to you right now, IF you qualify.

You pay only for materials and the hotel fee for attending a total of $148 dollars and you get to keep the materials!

You will learn coaching tools and if you decide you want to further your education and training and become a certified coach later, you can. This course is NOT a sales pitch for our programs.

It is a way to see if coaching is the profession or hobby for you and if our company is right to train you.

To attend, you need to complete an application which allows us to decide if you qualify for a free seat. We will not provide you an explanation if you are rejected. You may nominate family, friends, co-workers and others you feel would benefit from the training. Just have them email rachel@coachinginstruction.com for an application.

No one is considered who does not fill out an application.

During this live two day experience you will be able to see if coaching might be a good career for you or a full or part-time home based business. In addition, it will help you with your current career and you might find you want to bring this to your organization as well.

Coach Yourself

I was just with a client and they demonstrated such beautiful inner coaching, I had to share! They were in a small car accident on the way to work and then at work had a run in with a team member.

The client's old pattern was to get upset, feel stressed and to think about everything they could have done to avoid an accident and to avoid the run-in and literally beat themselves up.

What they did after being a coaching client was to focus on what was working: the accident was small, no one was injured, the car has minimal damage, the team member blows up a lot and the next day is fine, etc.

I love being a coach and helping others to live their lives in more positive ways.

Travel Hassles

Lately flying has become more and more of a hassle and doesn't fit in with my easy, effortless lifestyle. On Sunday night I had to catch a flight out of Philly to Indy for a business meeting Monday morning. The flight was delayed one hour going out and then when we got on the runway we had 33 plans in front of us and each plane was being spaced 20 miles apart due to weather. So that was another hour. Then I got in, 2 hours late and there was no gate agent for 25 minutes, so we were on the plane waiting to get off. Next, I went to get the rental car. An older gentleman was in front of me and could not find his license, then his credit card, then he wanted to add his wife as a driver and she could not find her license... then he only wanted a silver car... next he wanted a red vinyl interior only... he was in line for 20 minutes! So, at 11:33 PM I finally got my rental car and drove to my hotel.

Coming back yesterday, my flight was delayed over 2 hours and then when we got in, once again there was no gate agent for 10 minutes.

Each simple 2 hour trip has become 5 or more hours lately.

I read books, talked to new people, meditated and read emails to move the time along. Trying to make flying fit in with the ease I desire.

Back to Singing

I had such a great time with all the festivities with the wedding last week that the fact I got a really bad asthma flare-up wasn't something I was focusing on here. It was really a major flare up with me loosing my voice for 4 days! It is finally back... I just realized this when I was in the shower and started to sing and heard this husky voice - yeah, it is back and I sound live a man! LOL...

Running out now to be with my friend Besty and enjoy a late birthday celebration between friends... then to my date with my hubby, tonight.

My husky voice and I can't wait to sing through the day with joy.

Create YOUR EXTRAordinary day, too!

When I went through coach training almost a decade ago, it had a huge impact on my life. I thought it was just simply going to train me to be a coach so I could work with others helping them achieve more of what they wanted from life and what I found it is that by learning coaching skills, my life had less stress, more joy, ease and flow.

I could have had reasons for "upset" yesterday... my emails from the weekend are all gone and can't be retreived, I lost my voice due to an asthma attack from the humidity (and I was doing a podcast and radio interview yesterday, too!), one of my assistants is away and we need access to something only she has, some software in our database wasn't working right, my dog is in pain from arthritis, and on and on and on. What I learned years ago in coach training is that life is chaos and is always filled with wonderful things and then these things that people stress over that are simply not quite right yet. So, instead of having a stressed out day like I would have without coaching skills, I simply said, "oh yeah, this is the stuff of life" and I filled my mind and energy with what IS working and focused on that and decided how I wanted to feeeeeeeeeeeeeel.

I picked ease for the feeling and I listed over 80 things that were working - including beautiful, supportive, loving letters from clients, students and mentors and my team at Comprehensive Coaching U, Inc. The day moved on, some things on the list worked better and some didn't... oh well, such is life.

I cherish each beautiful experience and know this is simply the ebb and flow of life.

Walking Your Talk

As a part of coach training we teach things like being non-judgemental, finding greatness in people, making people right, not putting people down, not gossiping behind people's backs, etc. To me, these are basic human behaviors of kindness love and humanity.

I got the oddest email from a person who has Reverend in front of his name and am really shocked by it. Not only isn't it coach-like, it is far from spiritual essences I would expect from a Reverend.

It was filled with judgment, finding fault, accustations, and told me he engages in talk about me behind my back.

I wonder why there is such contrast and difficulty for this spirit in walking his talk and living and breathing coaching skills and living and breathing as a Reverend and I send him much love and light. I see his humanness and where he is on his path of evolution andI hold when he develops on his path of personal development, he will be more loving, gentle, kind and accepting of others.

Wedding Bells!

Yes, my awesome niece Rachel and her wonderful partner AJ just married this past weekend! What a great celebration! It began with us gals getting our manicures and pedicures, grabbing some lunch and then getting gowns all set and then we were off to her Bachlerette Party (what happened there, stays there LOL).... Then we had a Bridal Tea and went to decorate the reception hall for her red and white rose themed wedding. The place looked so beautiful. We then changed and got to the church for the rehearsal and then off to the rehearsal dinner (yummy food!) and watched a funny slide show by AJ's brother of them when they were younger. Then we met early on Saturday AM to get our hair done and munched on bagels and then chatted most of the morning. Then we changed at church and they had a lovely ceremony and of course a fun, fun, fun celebration! The party continued with an after-party celebration... but the bride and groom were missing for that one;)

And finally, yesterday we had a great brunch at AJ's parent's home.

I got home yesterday PM and can't stop thinking about the wonderful week filled with nothing but joy.

Rachel and AJ are honeymooning in Hawaii (ahhhhhhhhhhhh!) and starting a wonderful life together.

Happy times are all around!

My Dad's Fall:(

I came home from a meeting on Friday and as I came hom I passed my Dad who was talking Sheba out for a walk.

I came in, set my things down and was taking some water out of the refrigerator when my cell phone rang. The caller ID said "Dad" and I thought it was odd he'd call me while walking the dog. A man's voice said that my dad had fallen.

I ran from the house to see traffic stopped and a huge crowd of people around my Dad who was laying face down on the sidewalk. I felt like my heart stopped.

He was in a pool of blood.

He was talking and trying to act OK. We got him up and he was covered in blood coming from his nose, mouth, arms, hands, legs and knees. One of my neighbors flagged down the police who called the ambulance and emergency squad.

They wanted to take him to the hospital as he had so many wounds and his blood pressure was up high, but he refused to go.

I called the family Doctor and took him over there. We found he had broken his nose, had a serious hand and leg wound with huge holes in the leg and hand and that he did not have a head injury. In fact, his hip replacements and knees were ok.

I then got him to the hospital for Xrays and we found his nose had a bone chip and not a complete break.

So, although he looked awful, he was going to be fine.

I have been doing his wound care twice daily and he is getting better and is a great patient.

His face is purple, black, yellow, red and green and his nose is HUGE, so he'll look odd for his granddaughter's wedding this weekend - we'll see, maybe some make-up will work!

I feel grateful and blessed that he isn't badly injured and that the Angel's were looking out for him. I am thankful to the people who helped and that he is ok.

Passive Income

Every Monday, I enjoy a day set aside for what I call a Design Day. On this day, for 4-6 hours, I focus my time and energy on creating the systems that support the creation and enhancement of passive income streams.

My view of passive income is that is money that flows in, while I am doing other things. I do set up systems that create the income to come to me and don’t want to give the idea that I do nothing, light a few candles and clean out the file cabinets, and money rolls in. This is why each week; I devote a business day, every single week, to the systems.

On a passive income day, a design day as I call it, I monitor my current passive income streams – internet marketing, affiliate programs, joint ventures, cross-referrals, network marketing, etc. I see how they are working and how to optimize each to be financially productive as well as what systems can make them run with less effort and more results. I also spend some of the day looking for other passive income opportunities that resonate with me as well as those that add to my current passive income businesses. I investigate things like lead generators, technology, and other resources.

My goal in having passive income streams is to have ways of generating income while I am sleeping and not through my regular business of coaching, where I trade my time for money. I love taking what I enjoy and designing products and services that create passive income and I spend part of my Design Days doing this.

I enjoy these days immensely and love earning more income and having more free time, so I look forward to my Design Time to set up and expand my current income streams. Each week as I spend my Design Day on passive income streams, I create more money for the rest of the week, based on spending the 4-6 hours a week. I think of myself as a recording artist who goes into the studio one day and creates a great CD. Each week I may be on tour or on TV or promoting my CD – that is my Design Day. And every other day, the CD sales – my passive income – come to me while I sleep or do other things with my life and time.

Slow Down and Live The Life You Love

Do you find yourself wanting more time to slow down and enjoy your life? Are you feeling the need to accomplish more? We all want more time, more money, more love and more satisfaction. It is hard to balance all the things we want when there is so much to juggle. Chances are that your life is packed full with to do lists, commitments, projects and problems. When you’re this busy, you are missing out on living your life. Your life is just happening around you.

You can begin to improve your life in the areas of work, home and community when you begin to slow down. The process of slowing down will put you back in touch with yourself and you’ll be able to find your values once again. You’ll even find you will begin to reclaim your life and your dreams.

Here are three steps to help you slow down and enjoy your life. First, permanently eliminate three tasks, responsibilities, projects, goals, routines or commitments that aren’t necessary. If you do volunteer work that you feel obligated to do, give it up. If you make your own home repairs, hire them out. If you are involved in social events that you no longer enjoy, get out of them. If you dream of driving the Lexus or owning an expensive home, let the dream go.
Now you are ready for step two, which is to delegate, eliminate or organize 10 tasks. If you are spending time doing your own taxes, hire a CPA instead. If you clean your own home, hire a house cleaner so you don’t have to do this task. If you prepare the family meals, find a place to pick up healthy meals or find someone to prepare and deliver them, two or three times a week so you aren’t in the kitchen every evening. Install Quicken to manage your checkbook with ease. Find a dry cleaner that delivers so you don’t have to pick up your clothing. Hire a personal coach instead of pondering, contemplating, considering, but not doing.

Finally, if you are like most people, you have some type of daily to do list. To do lists can be anything from post-it notes to expensive day planning systems. You probably can’t imagine not needing such a system. How will you possibly plan your day? Well, if you are really serious about enjoying your life then you must give up that daily list that keeps growing. Here are some tips for letting go of the to do list ritual. When you think of a to do, ask yourself if it is something that you really have to do or is it something you can hire someone else to do, or delegate or simply eliminate? Set up a simple reminder system to keep track of when to mail out birthday and anniversary cards, note important social events or business meetings. This system can be a calendar, birthday reminder book, or data base contact system. Won’t it be better to experience each day in the present rather than reacting to the next item on your to do list? Keep the important information in a system but forget the to do list!

As you simplify your life, you will find you begin to make different choices. Instead of life running you, you are designing your life. You’ll notice what you have been missing because you were too busy and out of control to experience your own life. Although you can select the pace at which you want to simplify, those who tend to do it in bits and pieces never make it through the process because they lose momentum. So just go for it! When your life is full, you miss out on life. Start enjoying your life today!

Want more ideas to simplify or improve your life dramatically and to accomplish more with greater ease? Call 877-401-6165 for a free session with a Senior Life Coach to see what areas of your life can be improved.

There Are Only 3 Ways to Make Money

We only have 3 ways to make money.

One way is to do do what 99% of people do (which is why they don't have abundance) - they sell their time for money. It can be by working at a J-O-B or having their own business where they get paid based on the amount of clients, or patients they see (like a coach, or doctor).

Another way is to sell a product or service or a combination of products/services. This method gives you money from the sale of the product or service and NOT from the amount of time you actually work. This is actually alot wiser than the first method and there are tons of books and stories about millionaires who made their money this way.

The third way IS the way I love and I believe is brilliant and keeps you life and soul mission in tact.

That is to create Passive Income. Passive income can make you very rich ans has made more people weatlthy than methods one and two combined!!! You produce income with this method in an automatic way.

Think about it... the amount of money you earn has nothing to do with the amount of actual time or the amount of work you put in.

As a coach, I work with people to shift from getting paid by selling their time in a J-O-B or as a business owner, to moving first into selling products/services in combination and then quickly into creating passive income streams.

I have room for ONE client starting in June. If you are serious about working with me and having me quick your butt (with love!!) so that you learn to create serious wealth, I invite you to send me an email and SELL me on why I should pick YOU to be this clients. (terri@terrilevine.com).

Headknocking, Brick Walls ... and What's a Manager to Do?

It’s great to see many companies are now acknowledging that the old, traditional methods of management are not effective and they are modernizing their strategies and taking steps to improve employee morale, and therefore productivity. CEO’s are taking an active interest because they have to and senior managements all over the world are issuing new guidelines and goals to their middle management to initiate.

CEO’s and senior managements accept that low morale among their workforce means low productivity, which in turn, means low profits. Smart companies are hiring Coaches and Consultants to turn this around – everyone wants a happy workforce with improved productivity and profits. Some companies are trying other methods. But whatever method is being used, it still falls on Middle Management’s shoulders to implement. They are in a unique position to see what isn’t working, what won’t work, why it isn’t or won’t work, and what adjustments could and should be made that would make it work.

Sadly, for some of them, their senior management, CEO’s and Boards of Directors don’t listen. Sometimes, when a middle manager tries to express his view about a new strategy or goal, senior management can sometimes close their ears. After all, what would this middle manager know? If he was so smart, he’d be “one of us”. They may listen just to humor him, but they have their plan of action, and really, they just want him to carry out orders and toe the line.

If the bottom line employee is the one getting his or her hands dirty, it’s middle management who has the task of instructing and overseeing the way in which their hands are dirtied. They receive their instructions from those at the top, which is not always the best place to be if you want a clear understanding of what is happening at ground level. Middle Managers who attempt to enlighten them often find themselves doing the equivalent of banging their head against a brick wall.

Too often they are told they are not in a position to “know”, and to just do as they are told, which is a shame, really, because they are in a position to know. They may not know what plans are discussed in the boardroom, but they do know whether the plan is working or has a hope to work in real life, or at the very least, be able to identify trouble spots where some tweaking of plans would be ideal.

It is frustrating for middle managers when their senior management, the CEO, and the Board members, expect them to carry out reforms and oversee changes that are designed to make improvements, but may be misguided and miss their mark.

So, does the middle manager assertively argue with his senior management and risk his or her position and possibly jeopardize his own career goals within the organization? Nobody wants to rock the boat if it means their job is on the line, or they’ll be ostracized, even if they know they could save the company thousands in mis-spent dollars on initiatives which are poorly designed. And there are those in senior management who simply don’t want to be “shown up” by a lower level manager who may just know ‘better’ than they do… so reports and advice are not passed on. Middle Managers are humored and sent on their way.

What can a middle Manager do in this situation? When he has an idea he knows will work better, but his own senior management won’t even do him the honor of hearing it? He knows the instructions he’s been given are going to be a waste of time, mostly his time, and there isn’t anything he can do about it because those who make the decisions higher up, simply don’t want to listen.

This brick wall is familiar to many Managers. They’re too scared to speak up too loudly because their family’s welfare and the family home (mortgage) are often riding on his/her permanent paycheck arriving each month. He can’t afford to rock any boats. Meanwhile, his own boat is sinking and the Captain has left the ship to play golf.

So off they go to try and achieve their set goals and unable to achieve them successfully, yet powerless to do anything about it. The system or the senior level of management has let them down. And when this happens time and time again, it is a very demoralizing experience for the Manager involved.

So, what can a Manager do? There are courses of action one can take, some of which involve jumping off the deep end with their eyes closed – a leap of faith, and some which are just plain old common sense approaches.

1. A Manager can continue to do what is always done and the organization will not achieve anything worthwhile. If you are the type of Manager who doesn’t particularly care, just so long as his gets his/her pay check each month, then there isn’t a problem for you.

2. If you are the type of middle Manager who does care and who is getting a headache from the way the system operates, you can lay it on the line with your senior Management and just tell them like it is – politely, of course. If you strongly believe doing this would be detrimental to your career within the company, then you need to think carefully about this first. Feel your way; find a pair of friendly ears – someone must be willing to listen to you and help you champion your case. If not, is your career really likely to suffer, and if it is, can you live with that or do you have a contingency plan?

3. If you are really fed up, whether you decide to be assertive and speak up or not, maybe you should speak to a Career Coach or look for a new job. If your income is the sole income that your family depends on, maybe you should also start putting some aside for the possible eventuation that one day, you may be out of a job and need several months worth of savings to live on until you find new employment. If you never need to use these funds, the little nest egg you’ve saved will always come in handy for other things.

4. Maybe you can put it in a report and present it if a verbal presentation is out of the question. Or maybe you can organize a private chat with an influential senior level Manager, or the CEO, and have a heart to heart. Maybe the problem is with your own immediate manager. That’s a common scenario. You could try providing your immediate manager with a written report and copy it in to the CEO, and that way, whether your own manager is dismissive or not, you know the CEO is finally going to hear/read what you have to say.

5. Don’t just criticize any goals or plans or instructions that have been handed down for you to carry out without providing sound reasons and examples of why it doesn’t work, or won’t work, and perhaps hasn’t worked in the past. List alternative courses of action that you believe will work and ask for permission to try them. Where possible, show evidence of where and how your suggestions have worked and why they will work in your current situation. Show the organization the benefit to them of implementing YOUR strategies rather than the ones they have designed. And don’t dismiss the possibility that maybe senior management does know something you don’t, and maybe once they enlighten you, you will feel differently about everything!

6. Then there are those who admire managers who are willing to take risks. But it’s a fine line between showing initiative and insubordination. To deliberately disregard a directive from your own senior manager and implement your own plan which you believe will work (and his won’t) takes more than just courage. If you are wrong, your job and your reputation are on the line. Of course, if you are wildly successful, even the CEO will sing your praises (although there will always be some slight concern about your willingness to toe the line!)

In some organizations, middle management are not expected to make certain ‘executive’ decisions and their level of authority and responsibility is low. They are just a link in the chain of command. Some managers are happy to be here – they can safely ‘pass the buck’ upline. Many managers at this level are too scared to make decisions or instigate their ideas for change for fear of negative repercussions in the form of losing one’s job, or chances for promotion.

The trouble has always been, and continues to be, that in some very large organizations, senior level management are too far removed from the real day-to-day operations to know what is going on, let alone what will and will not work. When something fails, rather than admit the plan was bad, blame is laid at the middle Manager’s feet. It must be his fault – couldn’t possibly be our excellent plan!

This situation can occur in both large and small organizations. It occurs in very large organizations, because usually a more authoritarian style of management tends to be used. In this situation, middle managers are expected to do as they are told and not question their superiors. However, larger organizations who train their managers in a more participative style of management and who practice open communication and the expression of ideas are happy to find this system works.

It occurs in smaller companies because unlike the larger companies who can at least afford to hire experts to help them, smaller companies rely on their existing resources and their own board of directors. On the plus side, smaller companies find it easier to adopt a team spirit and engage in teamwork – which involves the middle manager, naturally, but all is not necessarily plain sailing if there are personality clashes or the company has limited funds to bring in outside experts and instead, consider themselves to be the experts.

Senior level management need to take more notice of the Managers below them. Listen to them and their suggestions; include them at your around table discussions and forward planning sessions. It may save your company thousands of wasted hours and dollars, and if nothing else, will improve your middle management’s morale and their own level of productivity!

Don't Be A Positive Thinker

Yes, that's right, don't be a positive thinker! Do be a postive feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeler!

When you think positive but don't feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel it inside you don't change your physical state and so you are really fighting negative thinking and not becoming positive.

When you feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel in your heart and soul positive feelings you will find you shift your beliefs and your actions and you will BE a positive person, not an imposter "trying" to think positive.

I have an assistant who is able to make the calls or I can swap leads with someone on my team

I tried something like this before and failed

This is a unique opportunity and offers a lot of support

I already invited all my friends to another opportunity so I don’t have anyone to call

I can find one new person to talk to this week and I can place an ad

I feel responsible for my team’s success

We are all in this together and my approach is to coach them to be successful

I might get someone into this that can’t afford it and their debt will be my fault

The system, if worked properly, allows each of us to generate income fast. This is a great opportunity to build a successful business at low cost.

I’m worried my friends won’t like it and then they won’t like me
I will feel better if I share this opportunity rather than they learn of my success and that I could have told them.

What if someone gets angry that I called

I do not take such things personally. I do not waste time on those that do not appreciate my offer. There are many more that do want to hear about this.

This is more work than I thought

I schedule the amount of time on this that easily fits into my schedule.

This is hard

I can talk to my team and see how those succeeding are making it easy

I’m afraid

I have the support of a team and can ask for help.

I’ve never been successful at my own business before

I can ask my team leaders and others in the company what they have done to create successful teams

Most businesses fail in the first year

This is an opportunity with an established business that I am now part of

I don’t like telemarketers calling me so how can I call people

I can call people at their requested time or I can send out an email to my leads prior to calling
I can’t get a hold of anyone on my team

If someone is not serious about being a team player I do not have time or room for them on my team

I don’t want to bother my team leader

I want to support my team so they must too

I had to find this opportunity myself so other people should find it on their own

I want to share this opportunity with as many people as I can. I want to make it easier for them to find it than it was for me.

If someone is meant to be a part of this it will find them

I can help facilitate their opportunity by helping it find them

What if someone doesn’t like the products, will they blame me?

It is up to each of us to try the products and decide for ourselves.

I’m not good on the phone

I can look at this like a conversation with a friend and then it becomes easy

I’ll just email my leads and if they are interested they’ll call me

What if they have some fears about making a call and I can make it easier for them

I don’t like to work alone

I have the support of my team and can find a buddy to work with

What if this is a hoax

This opportunity was created by a person of very high integrity who is very visible in the system and the company is a well established reputable company

It can’t be that easy to make money

This is just a story of mine and I have evidence that many are already making lots of easy money through this process

It takes 3 years to turn a profit in business and I don’t have that long

This opportunity is different in that it is built on a business that Is already profitable. Many members are already profitable.

The words Network Marketing turn people off

I will recognize the network serving that I am providing

Bonus

It seems like no-one else on my team knows how to do this so I’m going to have to build their teams for them to build my own success

I will continue to coach my team for success and teach them the sure ways to easily create a large, highly successful team
