Self Care

Self Care During Holiday Time

Everyone I meet talks about how busy they are. My personal focus is on not being busy and fully enjoying each second of time on this planet. Instead of being in “doing” mode I am in “being” mode. This, I believe is why I feel less stress.

Before I volunteer for a project, accept a dinner invitation, or say, “yes” to anyone or anything, I check in. I ask myself if I really have high desire to do this thing, and if it were my last few minutes on this planet, if I would choose to do this or something else. Knowing, fully, that each breath might be my last, I then make my choice.

If you want to create a more extraordinary life and feel less stress, here are my golden self-care rules:

1. Sleep 7-8 hours every night
2. Schedule quiet time with yourself daily
3. Meditate at least 5 minutes/day
4. Deeply breathe all day long
5. Eat healthy and keep away from caffeine
6. Keep a journal or diary
7. Say NO more
8. Communicate what you REALLY want to say
9. Celebrate YOU… each day think about all the positive aspects of YOU

Learn To Be Parents

"Why do parents need to learn how to be parents?"

Because no one taught us growing up or at any point in our lives, the skills we need to raise children in the most supportive, effective and stress free ways.

We get flung into a role that we have never trained for and we learn by doing – often making mistakes that hurt our children’s self esteem and/or have us feeling overwhelmed and frustrated as parents.

Some of the things that parents who have learned coaching skills find very useful include: focusing on fun; deeply listening and connecting with their children; better communication with their children; how to create mutual respect with your children; how to establish good consequences; being consistent as a parent; being lovingly assertive; curbing their tempers; and establishing healthy boundaries.

If you want to begin learning coaching skills to be a better parent, start by showing your kids, consistently and constantly how deeply you love them and that you always love them for who they are even if what they do isn’t so great.

In addition, you can change your language so when your children are doing things that aren’t quite right, you can explain this to them in regards to their behaviors being non-acceptable vs. making the children wrong as people.

I also want you to know that you must ignore many of the negative behaviors you see in your children. By ignoring them, many of the behaviors will go away. So instead of constantly correcting, fixing and policing, find the good in your children and tell them about all the things they do that are right.

Being a parent can be tough. Children are considering things like alcohol, drugs, and sexual activities. You want them to make the “right” choices. To do this, you actually need to loosen up and let them go, once you have taught them to make good choices.

If you don't already have your own copy of the bestselling book, Coaching For An Extraordinary, get it today so you can start to parent with more ease and create successful children. Get complete details here http://www.terrilevine.com/extraordinarylifespecial.html

Shocking Statistics

Today I read some shocking statistics.

Each day in the US, 2861 high school students will drop out… 17,297 public school students will be suspended … 1000 children will smoke their first cigarette… 2739 children will have parents who are divorcing… 4248 children will be arrested… 1329 infants will be birthed by a teenage mother … 8219 children will contract a sexually transmitted disease!

Frankly, this frightens me. As a coach who cares deeply about human beings, I wonder why we raise so many children who never reach their full potential. I think about the parents of these children and I wonder if they had coaching tools, if they’d be able to raise better children.

My experience as a coach, and a trainer of well over 2,000 coaches, is that when we learn coaching tools, we learn what we need to make incredible transformations in the lives of others. This goes for children, too. I believe if we start coaching our children early, we can help them prepare for what life puts in front of them. Our children will be better family members, friends, and workers and be able to meet goals and keep themselves on track.

The reason many adults and their children have so much chaos in their lives, is that we aren’t taught the skills we need to live highly productive lives in our schools. We don’t understand coaching tools because no one ever educated us about them.

When parents learn coaching skills they can help their children make better decisions, solve their own problems better and become better able to adapt to change. When they encounter obstacles they have strategies to deal with them, don’t get frustrated and make good life choices.

Coaching teaches us about the world, about ourselves and about being a human being on this planet. Education teaches lessons in math, English, history, etc, but missed the most important life lessons.

If you want your children to make good choices, be responsible for their futures, and to have the tools to see the consequences for their actions, you must learn coaching skills. Parents who learned coaching skills report their children are more connected to the family, are more positive, more loving and forgiving, make good choices and understand how their choices impact their future.

Coach Training and Why?

Who Enrolls In Coach Training and Why?

Students attracted to Comprehensive Coaching U and The Coaching Institute, are unique, exceptional, intelligent people, who want a program that moves rapidly. Our students range in age from 18 to 65 and over ¾ of our students are women.

People enroll for personal interest as well as their life and career well being, and to assist family, friends and loved ones in having happier lives and doing the work they love. We have recently noticed an increasing number of young people in their twenties, enrolling. These students are looking for a career that makes a difference and pays well. Many of our students are adults who want a career change shifting away from computers, corporations, teaching, health care, and other traditional fields. Still, others are personal trainers, yoga teachers, massage therapists, consultants, social workers, registered nurses, physicians or other health care practitioners asking to integrate our curriculum into their existing practice.

Our training is especially designed for those interested in working professionally in the booming field of life-coaching field, doing important work, and doing what they love while serving the world.

One of the gifts of life coaching is that you choose where to work. Many graduates work in their own home, while others rent office space to see clients. Many graduates work in settings with other professionals such as: chiropractors, personal trainers, therapists, mental health professionals or in gyms, day spas, yoga studios. Corporations enthusiastically invite graduates to be guest lecturers, paying them up to $1,000 to speak.

There is also the increasingly popular option of distance coaching, working with clients over the phone. The possibilities are unlimited. There is a great freedom in your ability to shape your practice into whatever works for you.

Another special treat in being a life coach, is that you can choose when you want to work. You are trained to earn $100-150 or more per hour. You may want to do this full time, or may want to supplement your current career by earning extra income in the evenings and on weekends. You design the schedule that fits for you. If you do want to leave your day JOB, the flexibility allows you to gradually ease yourself out of a currently unfulfilling “J-O-B”, with no financial stress. Ultimately, you have the choice to make this a part-time adventure or a full-time career.

Immediately after graduation, you will be charging $295 a month, or about $2,360 for an eight-month coaching program. By finding one new client a week for 50 weeks of the year, you will earn $118,000 annually… with two new clients a week, $236,000.

After gaining further experience and confidence, we encourage graduates to increase their monthly fees to $400 or $500 a month. While there are so many social workers, personal trainers, psychologists, massage therapists, chiropractors and other health providers, there is almost nobody who can effectively guide others to create extraordinary lives and work. All this at a time when more and more people are wondering: “What is my life about?”

Like starting any new business, building a successful life coaching practice requires two to three years of focused awareness, perseverance, commitment and motivation.

Graduates report receiving great respect from both clients and healthcare providers, they receive referrals, are taken seriously, and are eagerly invited to work in medical offices, chiropractor’s clinics, gyms, spas and other professional settings.

Coaching For Change

Let’s face it... no human being actually enjoys change. Most of us fear it. When you better understand what blocks you about change, it become easier to coach yourself (and others) through change.

Getting to know YOU!

Which of these statements apply to you?

1. I don’t want to make a change until I know all the details.

2. Until I get really fed up, I don’t make changes – I have to pushed internally or externally.

3. My fear of change overcomes me and I stop myself.

4. I avoid change.

5. I feel like a victim when I am forced to change.

6. I like things status quo.

7. I am hung up on how things use to be.

Now, here are some ways to move through change:

1. Think about a change you thought was bad, that had a positive result on your life and/or work.

2. Realize that change happens no matter what.

3. Focus on the changes you’ve experienced and how looking back they weren’t so bad and might even have ended up better.

4. When focusing on one major change in your life or work, keep other changes very minimal.

5. Look for the lessons as you change.

6. Find a coach or role model to assist you with change.

7. Ask friends, family, co-workers and others to assist you during change.

8. Look at the big picture and the end result and find possible positives from the change.

9. Find ways to feel more in control.

10. Ask questions and get facts.

11. Instead of how the past was, live in the moment which is.

Coach Yourself and Win

I always teach my coaching clients to coach themselves in between our sessions.

By changing their negative self talk, they are moving through emotional energy drains which hold them back and opening to allow in more of what they want in their lives and work.

Here are some tips you can put to use:

1. Always check in with yourself and ask how things are feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling. If they feel in alignment with your core values, all is well.
2. You may well ask, "Why do parents need to learn how to be parents?"

Change Your Life!

Change Your Thinking; Change Your Life!

When coaching clients I help them to focus more on creative, inspired solutions rather than the apparent problems and challenges of life and work. I do an exercise with them where we fun through solutions like watching them play out in a full feature film. There they are in Technicolor, right in front of our eyes. As the movie unfolds, we talk about positive ways to direct the movie. It is like a magic daydream about the future.

Try this for yourself:

Imagine the solutions and how much better things can be. See yourself and what you are wearing, doing, feeling, tasting, touching, hearing and smelling. Make it vivid and don’t rush.

As you imagine what you desire, take ONE action that brings you closer to your movie.

You really can create ALL you desire as what you think about and focus on is EXACTLY what you get.

Spice Up Your Life!

In my self-coaching program and my coach training programs, I encourage people to add some risk taking to their daily lives. Why? Each time you face what you fear, or what you can’t control, you grow as a person. By allowing yourself to be stretched, you evolve.

Several years ago I took clients to a ropes course and I also participated in the ropes course. I learned that by facing my own fear of heights, I no longer am paralyzed by that fear. I also learned that all fear is a story I have created.

I am not saying you have to jump out of plane. You might start your own business, or speak a truth you have been holding back, or live on raw foods for 10 days. Challenge yourself to work and play at your highest potential.

Need help? We have lots of resources at: http://www.terrilevine.com.

A Great Idea

A Great Idea for Network Marketers, Small Business Owners and Sales Professionals!

When I was number one in sales in the nation for the network marketing company I was with, people said I was lucky. When I took a start up company from zero to 11 million in one year, people said it was the right business at the right time. When I started my own coaching business and went from zero to $450,000 plus in a few months, people said I knew the right people.

It is none of that.

In fact, I’ve taught over 2000 network marketers, business owners and sales folks to do what I do.

Here is a tip you can apply right away from my system:

Have a contact manager party. Everyone is invited to bring his or her contact manager with him or her. Each person finds out what the others at the party do for business. Each person attending tries to match up those attending with some of their contacts.

Then, right at the party, they write a note of introduction and sends it off to their contacts, encouraging them to contact the service professional ASAP.

Have fun and build your business.
