Life Coaching Game

Why are Health and Fitness Professionals Getting Into the Life Coaching Game?

Increasingly, health and fitness professionals are affiliating themselves with "life coaches" and offering coaching services with their fitness and nutrition programs. Likewise, they are acquiring coaching skills themselves, enabling them to provide a more holistic service for their clients. It's an added income stream.

They understand how easily thwarted their clients' plans can become by the effect of their lifestyles, and armed with coaching skills, they can assist their clients to achieve a healthier life balance and remove the blockages that prevent their clients from succeeding.

Lifestyle factors influence everything we do. Working long hours, sedentary desk jobs and going home too tired and unmotivated to do anything else is common. Often, it is the unbalanced, disorganized life that negatively impacts our self-motivation and performance. A life coach assists in rearranging these messy lifestyles to simplify and unclutter and assist clients to focus on their goals without distraction.

For today's health and fitness professionals, incorporating a life coaching practice into their existing field of work is easy. They can gain their qualifications via teleclass programs and home-based study. They can achieve their coaching qualifications from various professional coach-training organizations such as www.coachinginstruction.com.

And we'll see more of it - it's a win-win.

Career As A Life Coach

Benefits of a Career As A Life Coach

One of the gifts of this profession is that you chose where to work. Many Life Coaches work in their own home, making a room into an office or even using their living room. Others move to a more accessible location within the area they live, suitable for seeing clients, while some relocate to other parts of the country or the world. Many Life Coaches look to work in a setting with other professionals and some rent office space with skilled professionals. Some work with Chiropractors, personal trainers, and mental health professionals. Some work in gyms, day spas, and yoga studios. Corporations enthusiastically invite Life Coaches to be guest lecturers, paying them up to $1,000 to speak and creating new audiences for them. Churches, synagogues, mosques, schools, libraries, and parent groups are also thrilled to have graduates come speak about the importance of daily self-coaching. There is also the increasingly popular option of distance coaching, working with clients over the phone. The possibilities are unlimited. There is a great freedom in your ability to shape a Life Coaching practice into whatever works for you.

What Is Life Coaching For?

Life coaching is for whatever is on your mind. If you are feeling down, or stressed or just want someone to help you with your job or relationships or health or parenting your kids. A life coach works with you to get more out of life.

A life coach provides you an ear, advice, motivation, inspiration and tailors their coaching to your individual needs. You bring your agenda and the life coach works with you to create more of what you do want and less of what you don’t want in your life and business.

Some coaches work in person, some by phone and some work online. Online is a great way to work for busy people who are comfortable typing. My busy clients love to do this form of coaching. E-coaching is a new way to coach and allows the client to take as much time as they need to think and then write and they get to determine when they want to compose and read the emails. As long as they have email, anyone from anywhere around the world can e-coach with me here in the U.S. Right now I have clients in 7 countries!

Most of my clients e-coach several times a week, which works great. They know their coaching is confidential and so they can “talk” to me about anything from their kids, their boss, their partner, their mom and dad… anything and anyone.

If you haven’t tried e-coaching it may be just the form of life coaching you’re looking for!

Coaching has been the subject from reputable and important publications like: Fast Company, Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, New York Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and Newsweek , Shape, Self, Fitness, Redbook and even is featured each week on Oprah!

Mentally Stuck?

What do you do when you're mentally "stuck" and can't seem to solve a problem?

1. Journal about the situation.

2. Talk about it aloud with someone who is objective (like a professional coach).

3. Take a walk.

4. Diagram all possible solutions.

5. Create absurd solutions.

6. List every possible solution and then highlight the ones that make any sense.

7. Forget about it for 24 hours.

8. Use the creative side of the brain and draw or paint.

9. Write answers with the non-dominant hand to engage the opposite side of the brain in the process.

10. Visualize the outcome with all solutions and see which one works.

Dr. Phil Is No Big Deal!

I am so tired of people acting like Dr. Phil provides something new and special.

Come on!

Yes, the guy has charisma but his advice? Get real. A teenage friend could provide me the same, common sense advice. He might be a bit more upfront or blunt about it, yet the message is the same.

I saw 5 minutes of his show and could not believe the general public in America was so naïve as to spend time and money on his products! The problems are obvious one and he doesn’t offer any advice that sets him apart as a credible expert.

I hope that the general public would have enough smarts to see through this guy.

Resolutions Don’t Work!

Every year I hear people talking about making New Year’s resolutions and changing something in their life or work.

By Jan or 5th or by today, January 15, 2005, most people already haven’t started what they committed to or have given up what they began.

Why is this?

Our lives are busy… we don’t keep our focus and we get distracted… we loose motivation or we never had a plan or made a serious commitment to begin with.

Instead of making resolutions to give things up, how about thinking about what you want to let in?

One of my coaching clients said she wanted to gain more health and vibrancy instead of “I want to stop eating junk food”.

The next thing is to have a clear plan. Most people keep doing what they’ve always done and don’t get what they want because they do the same old thing. You must have a clear, concrete, daily action plan to achieve your goals.

For example, one of my clients and I co-created her action plan to start her own business. It includes 5 actions she will take each day to move her closer to her goals. She makes incremental, daily progress and is moving forward.

You must also set up a reward and consequence system. In other words, what is it that will be the reward of making this change (to look better, feel better, have more time, less stress, a new job, make more money, etc.) and what are the consequences of not making it? (Like, loss of job, poor health, lack of money).

There must be enough pain in the consequences that you don’t give up because the pain of not getting what you do want, is too great.

If you want help with the resolution process and want to achieve extraordinary success this year to loose weight, make more money, find a mate, manage better, sell more, raise happier kids, or anything else, my coaching business has a very inexpensive way for you to do this.

See it here and don’t let 2005 come and go with you stuck in the same old place!

Consider Life Coaching

If you want a business with strong marketing tools and one where your services are in high demand, you must consider life coaching. This field has over 16,000 people a month looking for life coaches!

Life coaches attract high numbers of clients as life coaching covers any problem. As a life coach you can coach anyone through anything, so you tap into a broad market.

Life coaches speak with potential clients and offer to do a free needs analysis with them. They listen to find the pain the person is having and then they show how life coaching can assist.

Life coaches find their coach training pays for itself in a few short months if they follow a proven, simple, effective marketing system. At The Coaching Institute (http://www.coachinstitute.com) coaches are taught to overcome their fear of picking up the phone and to breakthrough any fears of self-promotion. They are shown exactly how to promote themselves with 10 methods that work.

The average life coach graduating from such a program earns about $10,000 per month to start if they follow the marketing systems. They get, as part of their training, a predictable system to find them clients and they will successful if they take action on the system.

Life coaches can join service organizations, clubs, and leads groups to find clients because personal coaching can solve any problem.

This work is a former sales persons dream!

The Coaching Institute (http://coachinstitute.com) is the one stop shop for life coach training and the number one place for life coach training and has a complete and comprehensive program.

The owner has been training coaches for 7 years and is one of the most highly paid coaches in the industry. Graduates have great track records by following what is taught at this program.

The program provides the methodology and curriculum to that the graduates will take their own client’s through and even teaches a process for uncovering the client's agenda.

Because this program has a unique selling system it gives people a way to justify the cost of life coach training and assures they will get clients.

Being a life coach creates the best mental feelings about what you do and helping people gives you tremendous pleasure at the end of each day.

You can coach people about marriage, relationships, parenting, finances, self-care, balance, work, their attitudes, health, and weight loss… you name it!

Check out this career now and don’t miss out.

Are You a Workaholic?

Some people have trouble taking time off of work. They forget that their jobs are simply jobs and don’t define who they are or make up their life experience. They measure their worth and value by their role at work instead of by how they produce and add to others lives outside of work.

If you aren’t sure if you are a workaholic or if you know you are and are choosing to live your life vs. work your life, begin here.

1.Get a copy of my bestseller, Work Yourself Happy.

2.Decrease the amount of hours you work each day by at least one.

3.Make some rules and boundaries about checking email, voice mail or being paged during the weekends.

4.Schedule on your calendar fun activities like sports, meeting friends, family time and self-care activities and do this each week.

5.Take a lunch break every day and never eat at your desk.

6.Let go of guilt when you are working less. Sorry to dent your ego, but the world goes on even if you are off. And your life is waiting for you now and might not be in the next moment.

Stressed?

Enjoy the Music of Your Life

Whenever people feel stressed, I share my secret of relaxing fast. I listen to music that I find relaxing, such as Enya. I fully engage myself in the music and close my eyes and breathe and feel the music fully in my body. I focus on the sounds, the images and invite my senses to bask in the music’s energy.

I also allow my mind to paint pictures to the music… beautiful images of joy, sun, light and peace. Within minutes I am feeling more joyful, calmer and free.

Life goes by too fast and this could be your last minute on the planet. You DO have a choice… do you want to spend it stressed or relaxed?

Blended Coaching

Coaching An Organization: Using a Pragmatic/Spiritual Blended Approach

Imagine you are attending a corporate training/coaching session and the session begins with a meditation, and centering, and then stating intentions. Sounds odd, yes? Take it further, and imagine the room is full of accountants, or engineers, or physicians, or attorneys. Sounds really strange, right?

This is what is going on in companies all across the United States. An approach blending pragmatic coach training along with tapping into spirituality is being accepted, and in fact, embraced and adapted as a business practice. Company cultures are shifting and changing to accept spirituality in the workplace.

We have finally realized, after years of pretending the personal aspects of who we are don't come to the workplace, that we can't leave ourselves behind. As companies have learned, our lives outside of work come to work with us, because we are comprehensive human beings. When a company acknowledges and honors that the person we are is the person invited and accepted into the workplace, a more productive and happier worker shows up.
