Relationships

I was noticing how friends and family talk a lot about what is not quite right in their relationships with their children, parents, mates, co-workers and their family and friends. I was silently listening thinking about how I focus on postive aspects of what IS working and what IS right about all the people I experience, even ones that might pose some "difficulty".

I asked a few questions (of course, the Coach in me could not stay quiet!) and as I did I saw each person begin the gentle shift that comes from coaching. One of my closest friends said, "I am not sure what you just did or how you did it, but 10 minutes ago I was really pissed at my sister-in-law and all of the sudden I am finding her silly ways just that, silly"...

Ah, the power of coaching and simply asking the right questions. I am blessed to know these tools and have them to coach myself and my clients and the side benefit of observing others and assisting them by living as a coach is soooooooooooooo rewarding to me.
