My Morning Walk

For the past 18 years I have started most of my days with about an hour walk early in the AM. If the weather is good I go to a nearby park and walk a wooded trail and later a parkside trail. I enjoy the silence and listen to the animals and take notice of the sights and sounds (I lost my sense of smell when I had sinus surgery years ago, so that part I miss). During this quiet, I meditate and plan my day and set my intentions and I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel gratitude and joy for what is working and the great things and people in my life.

On days when the weather doesn't cooperate, I walk on my treadmill and focus on slowing my thoughts down and enjoying my life and being grateful for all that is working and well.

I have noticed that if there is a day when I miss this ritutal I feel out of balance and rushed. By moving my body in connection with my mind I am creating a comprehensive experience of bringing my mind and body and spirit together and feel complete.
