The word empower is often overused. Many employers talk about empowering their employees but often employees feel disempowered. Here's a list of the top 10 things you can do that will really empower your employees, according to employees, not employers!
1. Allow employees to actively participate in team and company goals.
Look for every opportunity to include employees at every level of the organization, in being active participants. Employees often report getting one-way directives instead.
2. Allow employees to suggest better ways of getting their jobs done.
Ask for employee suggestions for other ways of getting the task or project accomplished. Listen and be willing to really hear the employees' comments. Employees often report that they have no input and are told exactly how to perform their jobs, leaving no creativity.
3. Provide positive reinforcement.
Always listen and acknowledge your employees. Employees often report that their decisions and actions are second-guessed and that most, if not all, feedback given is negative.
4. Clearly delegate responsibility and give the employees authority along with the responsibility.
Do you give inconsistent messages? Do you ask the employee to handle a problem or project and then give them negative feedback or give them an assignment and then say "never-mind?" Employees often report that they are given tasks and then told they did it wrong.
5. Be clear in your communication.
When you express goals or explain projects, be sure the employees really understand what you are asking for. Employees often report that the goals are unclear and that they are not sure what they are being asked to do.
6. Show you have trust in your employees.
Allow them to make mistakes as a form of learning. Show that it is really ok to make mistakes. Let them know you really support their decisions. Employees often report that someone is always looking over their shoulder to make sure they do things right.
7. Listen. Listen. Listen.
Do you do most of the talking? Employees often report that conversations are one way, comprised mostly of their ideas being criticized. They don't feel they are heard.
8. Be interested in the employees' career development.
Meet with employees and discover their goals and their wants. Employees often report that their goals are not viewed as important in the organization.
9. Let the employees help you achieve success.
Are you doing it all yourself? Employees often report that their managers do all the tasks and that they have no way to make contributions outside their job descriptions. Look for opportunities to delegate and enhance the employees' career development at the same time.
10. Be a coach.
The best way to empower employees is not to manage them. Coach them to success. This is a process of developing their skills and providing them specific feedback to meet high standards. Employees often report feeling like children rather than being on the same team with their bosses. Be their coach and lead the team to success!

The Top 10 Approaches to Your Career Goal Attainment
Most of us spend the majority of our working hours engaged in work or work related activities. Yet over 80% of the population is dissatisfied with their current job situation. These top 10 tips will assist you in achieving your career goals.
1. Whether you're unemployed, underemployed, considering a career change, re-entering the job market, or recently graduated, the first step toward reaching your career potential is to objectively analyze and evaluate your skills and capabilities. Have a coach or career counselor objectively assess your natural talents, skills and professional strengths.
2. Set realistic short and long range goals. Create a plan that will give you a competitive edge. Be specific. Have it reviewed objectively.
3. Design a high profile resume. You must have a resume that will sell you. Don't send out a resume until it is a strong sales tool that represents you.
4. Gain information on industry trends and specific companies. Use a business database, CD-ROM or on-line systems.
5. Develop sophisticated networking capabilities.
6. Create winning interview skills. While you may be an expert in your profession, you must be able to sell yourself during an interview.
7. Negotiate the salary that you require. Have a strategy for negotiating top dollar. A coach or career counselor can give you tools for getting the money you want.
8. Use marketing techniques for a competitive edge. You need to implement an effective marketing strategy to increase your visibility and give you an edge. Create a plan targeted to meet your needs.
9. Find long term support, even after your short term career goals are met.
In order to keep growing, stay abreast of market trends and issues related to your career growth and development. Use an objective partner to support you.
10. Use an approach that meets your needs. Don't follow guidelines in a book or from a friend if they are not comfortable for you and not representative of who you are. Be authentic in designing a career search and marketing plan that really reflects who you are.

Wanted People Who Want Success NOW!
I only help a select group of people each year who want to be coaches. I take only those with the real qualities needed to make themselves a success.
So ask yourself the following questions:
1. Do you want more money than you have now?
2. Wouldn't you spend about $8,000 to make about 100k?
If your answer to both questions is yes, then the ideas and strategies I have for you will achieve both in record time.
I know that you might be skeptical, and I don't blame you. There are a lot of purported experts, saying they can make you money in a business.
So, how can I show you that this program really works, has worked for people all over the World, and will work for you?
Maybe you're intrigued, it sounds good (maybe even too good), and you want to believe -- but how can you really find out for sure?
If you read the testimonials at www.CoachInstitute.com you will have heard from lots of people I'm already helping. If you've yet to do so, here's an example of just how different and effective this is...
"Thank you for an incredible experience. I looked long and hard for a coach training program that would emphasize marketing as much as coaching. After all, what good is a great coach who can’t be found???
You provided the perfect blend. You have the unique ability to capture the listener’s attention with terrific delivery while providing meaningful, thought-provoking content. I often hear echoes of “T” as I am coaching my clients. Just as you suggested, when a client sets a goal of mastering time management or marketing, I find myself paying more attention to fine-tuning that skill in my own life. Thanks for giving so much of yourself, and for making coach training so darn much fun!
PS: My coaching business is already soaring...through your powerful partnering and referral, I found an immediate stream of clients."
Cynthia PhiferGraduate, Virginia Beach, VA
So will my training work for you?
Implement what we teach and history has shown that answer to be a resounding YES. But the only real way to find out is to try out what we have to offer.
So if you haven't already reviewed www.CoachInstitute.com I suggest you do so today. The faster you respond, the faster you can start seeing the success you're after...

Training For A New Career
When I look at what people love about the field of business coaching it is the fact they can get training quickly and have a new career by studying at home in no time. Finally people have an opportunity to have a business of their own. They get all the tools to increase their success to build clients and client releationships with ease. I also think that business coaching is fascinating because we as coaches get trained and learn essential life and business skills we were never taught in school!
When people learn coaching skills they have better relationships and more success. They get to learn the skills quickly and get a coaching diploma while learning knowledge essential for life and work.
Let's face it... too many people are miserable in their JOBs! Too many people want to have a side business from home but don't know what business to select! Too many people are dreaming of being entrepreneurs and are afraid to try it. We have more parents wanting to be at home more and not knowing how to do this. Let's rock and roll those people and get them to move into taking some real ACTION!

Who Ever Heard of a Woman Losing Weight - and Enjoying 3 Delicious Meals at The Same Time?
My good friend, Carla, has been telling everyone about how she is eating her favorite foods, loosing weight and how great she feeeeeeeeeeeeeels and we've all been telling her how beautiful and young she looks! She is following the Create Your Ideal Body program and eating what she loves in moderation, not counting any calories, not dieting, not killing herself exercising and she is happy and getting slim! I am thrilled for her and love the fact that she decided to give up all the crazy, unhealthy and expensive diets she was on so she can live and loose weight.

Make Your Clients Love You...
That might seem a bit over the top, but if your clients love you, they'll keep coming back. They'll give you repeat business and refer their friends and acquaintances to you. They'll give you wonderful testimonials that you can use to boost your business. Working with them will feel more like "fun" than "work".
And it works the other way first… !
Have you ever heard of people talking about a doctor's "bedside manner"? A doctor with a great "bedside manner" is never short of patients! In fact, a doctor with a great "bedside manner" attracts more patients. This doctor, if he wants, can charge whatever price he chooses and he will never be short of clients!
Coaches are in a similar boat. If you're a sourpuss, or too serious and have no sense of humor, how do you think you'll compete with a loving, caring, warm, approachable Coach who has a great sense of humor and brings warmth into their client's lives?
Don't make the mistake of thinking you only have to hold the most qualifications to attract more or better clients and keep them. It doesn't work that way. People like feeling good. We might run our businesses with our heads, but it is our hearts that make us tick. We are creatures of emotion and even the most cold-hearted among us responds positively to kindness, warmth and compassion.
There is only one secret to attracting and keeping perfect clients… they have to like you. I've known people who are willing to pay MORE to a particular Coach for that very reason. You don't HAVE to be the smartest, most qualified Coach on the planet, and you don't HAVE to offer the cheapest fees – but you must be likable.
Being likable is a true business asset. You shouldn't believe that provided you do great coaching, that's all that matters and personalities don't come into it – it doesn't work that way. When you consider referrals (which can boost or kill your business) – what type of referrals do you want? Do you want your clients bad-mouthing you and telling people how terrible you are? No, of course not… this is why you must be likable!
Most coaches don't have this problem. We're trained to be "people" oriented, to build them up and make them feel good about themselves. However, as with any profession, there are some Coaches and Consultants whose "bedside manner", to borrow the expression, is cold and detached. Detaching yourself from outcomes is good, but just be careful about how you express this in your relationship with your clients. You don't want to form any barriers between yourself and your client. Remember, they are not buying a loaf of bread from you, they are paying you to help them have a great life… their coaching experience should be part of that experience.
A great marketing tip, and one that serves Coaches and consultants well, is remembering your clients birthdays and special events. You should have this information in your client records so you can send birthday cards, and for special clients, you can send small gifts. Remember them at special holiday times too.
If they have children who participate in special activities like sport or dancing, etc. You can inquire about them. You will impress your clients by (a) remembering and (b) that you cared enough to ask.
Being a "likable" Coach doesn't just stop with your clients. Word of mouth referrals also come by way of every business associate with whom you deal. If you're unpleasant to deal with, you will miss valuable joint venture opportunities and the referrals from other coaching and business associates. Some coaches forget this. Some have short tempers and sharp tongues in their dealings with those who are NOT their clients. It pays to remember that you are "selling yourself" every time you open your mouth or write an e-mail. How do you want others to talk about you? That is the question!
So, if you can be a great coach AND a likable coach, you will also be a popular coach and never be short of your ideal client!

Referrals In A Hurry!
Everyone who knows me also knows I believe 100% in using referrals as a business building tool. It is the easiest and cheapest form of marketing – other people are doing your marketing for you!
There are added benefits to building your business using referral based marketing, apart from the obvious cost savings. You know yourself, when you ask your friends for advice and they refer you to a certain business or product, you trust their judgment and advice. It's the same with clients whose own friends referred you to them. You don't have to prove yourself to these new referrals… you've already proven yourself to their friend and in their eyes, you're already the expert.
So, how do you encourage existing clients, and past clients, to refer others to you? Well apart from simply asking them, there are other ways of building referrals – here are some tips:
1. I include a request for referrals at the bottom of my new client Welcome letters and on the bottom of each invoice – so there is a constant reminder and request for referrals.
2. Besides always including some small wording about referrals as above, you can do a special mailing in which you specifically ask for referrals from your current and past clients. You can consider a referral reward system. For every x number of referrals/clients who sign up, you can give a gift to the "referrer". Or for every new client referred to you by another client, you can reward your referrer with an Amazon gift certificate. People like to receive rewards. Another great time to ask your client(s) for referrals is when they compliment you and express excitement about some achievement they've accomplished thanks to you! That's your cue to tell them to let their friends know that if they also need this help, they know where to come!
3. If you have an office where clients attend, stick up a sign on the wall where clients will see it that says you appreciate their referrals. Make it large enough to read from a distance. Even if your client has never referred anybody to you, this will put the idea in their head!
4. Participate in joint referrals with associates whose business activity complements your own. If you refer YOUR clients to other people's businesses, there is a better chance that they will reciprocate and refer their clients to your business. You don't have to stick to businesses that are similar to your own – think about hairdressers, dry cleaners, travel agents, etc. You can do this with your clients as well. Promote them to people you know and they will be happy to refer people to you.
4. Leave your brochure and some business cards in a visible place (front desk) of businesses whose clientele might be interested in your services/products. Offer to do the same for the business where you leave your brochure/cards. (I also do this with "ad exchanges" – no money changes hands here – my business associates are happy to send out an ad of mine to their newsletter lists in exchange for me sending one of their ads to my list.)
5. If you don't have a formal referral reward system set up, do remember to send a special thank you card or small gift to the person who has referred a new client to you. If you are not appreciative of a referral and don't show your appreciation, you may not get a second one! Don't offer gift certificates to your own services or products – your referrers are more likely to appreciate it if you reward/thank them with other types of small gifts. In the past I have thanked my referrers with individualized gifts to suit them: an acrylic clock, a calculator, and a paperweight. However, you needn't spend a fortune on this – your clients will feel just as rewarded with an Amazon gift certificate, movie tickets – or even a box of chocolates!
For first referrals, I suggest a gift in the $5-10 price range. Choose something they can display in their office or home and if you can, inscribe it with something like "Deep thanks, Comprehensive Coaching U" (using your own company name, of course!)
When that person refers a second client to me, I follow the same format but this time, I send a slightly more expensive thank you gift – in the $15-20 range. (Notepad/calculators, emergency car kits, thermos, etc.)
Then, for each referral above this, I work in increments of 3. For each third referral, I bump the gift up. So, it might be lunch at their favorite restaurant, a weekend getaway, etc.
I don’t promote this program to my clients. I love to “WOW” them with the surprise gifts. I have found in about 9 months, this program really kicks in and referrals flow in. It is great fun for all, and I happily pay for a gift of dinner to have a new client.
6. Offer your clients and associates commissions on successful referrals – you can start an affiliate program. When you receive payment from referring other people's products or services, you don't mind making the referrals! You don't have to do this for every product or service, but you might like to pay a small commission on the first coaching session your new referred client receives.
7. Consider to do a free teleseminar and encourage your existing clients to attend and bring a friend! That gives you extra people who will be able to experience you without having been a client themselves, and who will talk about you to others. Offer them a gift for their attendance – perhaps a free e-book or special report. Give them an e-mail address where they can redeem their gift.
8. Another great way to build referrals is to do a promotional activity with a nonprofit organization. Find a charity organization that has a large member base – the types of members who would be most likely to use your services. You contact them and offer to do a special fund-raising activity. Maybe you can do a speaking engagement in which you split the profits 50/50 (and you can also sell back of the room products to increase your profit.) Or you can suggest if they would like to refer you to their members, you can offer their members a special discount and you will pay the organization a percentage of each member's fee. Sure, you don't make great heaps of money doing this, but it does showcase you to a whole new range of people – potential clients – potential referrers! And it's cheaper than taking out a full page ad!

Fear of Success?
As I continue to train and work with coaches and as I coach my own clients, I see many people having difficulty handling fear of success. This fear of success comes from an old story or pattern that they are not good enough. This fear results in them losing their motivation to grow, to achieve and to succeed.I help them establish new behavior patterns and new beliefs and feeeeeeeeeeling to overcome this old story.
To begin this process we look at their life and where they had fear of success.
If you want some free coaching advice, here it is:
Create an autobiography of your life and age by age write down when/where and how you had fear of success.
The first step in changing our stories is knowing what we are thinking.

The Best Question To Ask Yourself!
Here it is! The number one question to ask yourself at all times! The number one question to teach your children, your partner, your friends, family members, co-workers and others in your life, to ask themselves!
Grab a pen, get an index card and print this BIG and BOLD and post it where you can let this in every day.
Ready?
Ok: What is best for ME?
We typically are more concerned about others... about hurting their feeeeeeeeeeeelings... about not doing what we "should"... about saying "yes" when we really want to say "no", etc.
Now, when you change your question, you'll change your answer and you'll hear your inner voice tell you exactly what YOU really want. No "should's" and no "have to's" and no "ought to's".
This question is one to teach to all those you love and all those you care about.
So, ask yourself right now?
What is best for me?

Things I Learned About My Energy
I have worked with many experts in the areas of self-help, mind/body/spirit work, energy work, etc. I had the joy this weekend of having a session with an amazing woman who uses Shiatsu/Shin Tai and Reflexology/Reiki to promote personal growth, healing and centeredness.
First of all, let me tell you how I came by her. One of my loving clients sent me a gift certificate to work with her. I was thrilled to receive this and held it until I felt up to this body therapy after my Achilless rupture.
I knew that this was a special gift and wanted to soak it in.
The session was fascinating and worked to restore my natural energy. The practioner created a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. What I honored most was her deep respect and tailoring to match my specific needs. I left feeeeeeeeeeeeeling super relaxed and calm.
I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to experience this work and I look foward to more!

Secrets That MLM's Don't Teach You
I did a call last night for people in MLMs (direct selling, independent marketers, network marketers, distributors, party plans, etc) and I shared the secrets that MLM's don't teach. I really believe in network marketing and know it can work, but not under the models set up.
The current model is to have you sell the opportunity, get in as many people as you can... because they know over 90% of the people will fail and they are hoping one person you brought in might be successful.
This doesn't make YOU money.
People you bring in just based on the opportunity, get in for money. They get right out when they don't make money.
You can make 10k or more in this business, IF you don't follow what MLM's teach you!
Seriously!
I was delighted that after I shared the secrets this group really got it!
I know that through more MLM coaching on the secrets, they will apply the secrets and prosper and that feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeels good to me!

It is About Making a Difference!
When I decided to major in Speech-Language Pathology back in college, it was because the field was one where I could help children and adults to gain/regain their speech, language and comprehension and I believed strongly that communication was vital to a full life experience. I entered the field to make a difference -not to make money.
When I later opened up my own Speech Clinic addressing the needs of stroke patients, autistic and Down Syndrome children, adults and children who had CP or were mentally retarded and stutterers, I came from wanting to make a difference in people's lives and to ease up the pain of not being able to communicate with ease. I didn't care about making money.
Later, as I changed direction and became an Art Consultant I had a strong desire to bring inexpensive, yet beautiful, original oil paintings to everyone so they had a chance to enjoy art and get joy from their art. Making a difference in their lives was the motivating factor - not money.
As I moved back into the rehabilitation field and began marketing for companies and then operating companies, I only wanted to make money. In those jobs I never felt I made a difference except for the times I was training, coaching, mentoring and supporting my teams. I was there to work a J-O-B and make money.
When I left that field to do coaching full time, it came solely from my desire to make a difference in people's lives...to make their lives more rich and full and their work and business more successful and joyfilled. Money was not an ingredient in my becoming a coach. And I wondered why I had been in the mode of accumulating money for many years and lost my direction.
I share my thoughts on this as I am about to make a large donation on behalf of someone who needs treatment overseas. I am glad I have the money to do this, so I can make a difference in someone's life.

Sales Coaching Works!
I recently got this email from a corporation I did a 2 day workshop for and then follow up coaching with.
Dear Terri,
Mack and the team are so pleased we stumbled upon your website and then purchased your book, Stop Managing Start Coaching and then got a hold of your Selling-Without-Selling kit! The 2 day workshop was just what the sales force needed and the sales managers have better skills and are already putting them to work for them and getting better results with their teams.
I decided to email you because this week, we had our highest sales week ever! We set records and we are taking all the sales reps to a great restaurant with their significant others on Saturday to celebrate.
I just knew you'd want to hear that this combination workshop with the coaching is massively successful.
Thank you and your coaches!
I do this work because I have a strong desire to impact companies of all sizes and know there are ways they can be more profitable and productive that they have never been taught.
My heart is warmed by their success and I look foward to creating more success for them and others.

Business Coaching Sector on an Upturn Again!
The downturn in our economic condition in the US is opening up more coaching work as corporations are downsizing and individuals are hiring career coaches to move foward. Also, as corporations downsize this causes much chaos within the organization and so those corporations are hiring coaches to help people deal with the changes the downturn in bringing and their fears about their employment.
Just in the past 7 weeks I have personally been contacted by 5 companies and 11 individuals.
Coaching is unique in that when business is great, corporations hire coaches and individuals hire coaches to change careers, start their own businessess, etc. When the economy is down, individuals hire coaches to find new careers and companies hire coaches to help them retain key talent while downsizing others.
I am glad I am in a stable industry and self-employed!

The Morgenbesser Famiily
I am always so proud to be part of my mother's family. They are loving, funny, generous and really caring people.
On Friday, my Uncle Carl, passed away. Carl was one of my mother's brothers.
Carl was our single Uncle who always played with the kids, took us to Coney Island and to the Seaquarium and created picnics on the floor of my Grandmother's house with blankets and snacks!
He was loving and fun.
Carl was single and lived with my Grandmother.
When my Grandmother passed, she asked her other children to promise to care for Carl and they all did right up until his death.
My mother, when she was alive, made mounds of chicken, and veal, and pasta and drove from NJ to Brooklyn, NY to carry these heavy trays of food to him. My Aunt and Uncle went to visit him on a regular basis and cared for him during the past few years when he was put in a nursing home.
Sadly, he was badly depressed and had been on the wrong medication for many, many, many years. His happiest years hae been in the nursing home:(
He loved the nurses and had a "girlfriend" there and the nurses really took stellar care of him and cared for him with love.
The funeral was Sunday and my Uncle was buried next to my Mother - just as she planned and purchased him a plot soooooooooooooo many years before her death in 1996.
I grieved for the loss of my Uncle and the loss of so many Morgenbesser's over the years... my Grandparent's, my Aunt Fran and Uncle's Ralph and Seymour and also felt sadness that our family was shrinking. Of course, I also missed my Mom, dearly.
Later, at the home of one of my cousins, where we all gathered to share memories and laughter and get some food in our bodies... we laughed, we hugged, we told our stories about Uncle Carl and the other Morgenbesser's transitioned. I felt connected, and honored to be a Morgenbesser!
Today, as I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel about yesterday, I realize it is more about having a family that is connected and supportive than it is about loss.

When I Sent This Out Some Folks Got Angry... Why?
I sent this letter out last year and many folks got spurred into action and some took offense at being called a "human lobster"... hmmm, wonder what that all means... the very different reactions is about them, yes? Well I decided to remodel it and share it again... I'll be curious so do post your reactions... ALL are welcome!
SEVEN STEPS TO BE FINANCIALLY FREE
Around ten years ago, I had to face the reality of being miserable in my job but having to stay there to make money. After so many years of hard work my happiness had gone south. It is a moment that I will not like to remember the rest of my life.
I felt I was the only person with that catastrophic feeling. I was wrong. And the best part was that many other people have a fantastic comeback.
Reading a book from Dan Kennedy, he mentioned something about our reality. If you don’t act today, your future will be terrible…
“Take any hundred persons at the start of their career and follow them for forty years until they each reach retirement age and here is what you will find according to the Social Security Administration: Only one will be wealthy … four will be financially secure …thirty six will be dead … and fifty four will be dead broke – dependent on their meager Social Security checks, relatives, friends, even charities for a minimum standard of living. That is five percent successful, ninety-five percent unsuccessful”.
After reading this I know I had to change if I wanted a better future.
I decided to do some research on my own through books and interviewing people who were very successful. After many months of research and tons & tons of notes, I started to look for a common denominator among them… for their most common behavior… most repeated vehicle to obtain their wealth… as well as their personal input of every aspect of the economic world.
One night I felt my head was about to explode
INFORMATION… INFORMATION… INFORMATION… and not a clue on how to connect all this super-valuable information given by all these super-successful people…!
Then, all of a sudden, I felt like an electric shock inside my head…!!! (oh no!!! a short circuit caused by over-work – I thought- !!)…. But to my surprise, I was fine, better than ever before… and with all the information making sense for the first time in months!!!
“I got it… I got it …!!!” And I started writing for hours & hours without even stopping for a second. I was able that night to arrange my valuable information…!!!
I came up with a “7 Step Plan” to obtain my financial freedom. It became my every day companion, my “insurance” for a better future. I kept it in an easy place to reach, and read it every day… many, many times…
After a few weeks of doing the same thing with consistency I started noticing a change in me …. and in the people around me (my change made them change toward me!).
Not long after that, I found my vehicle to obtain my “Financial Wealth”. In my first year after having started my “7 Steps Plan” I had an income of over $100,000, and I was on my way to my first million dollars…!!!
My life has changed like I never thought possible. I have been able to give my family everything I always wanted … and what’s more important… I believe in myself again & I’m not afraid of the future anymore…!!!
Friends who knew me before and witnessed my “economical change”, approached me with questions on how I did it. I told them how, and shared my “7 Steps Plan”. They were able to achieve economic security after a few months.
I had found a proven system to obtain FINANCIAL WEALTH…!!!
… And this same “7 Steps Plan” my new friend, is what I will like to share with you today…
Since early times it has been a human desire to obtain FINANICAL WEALTH although not too many people have been able to achieve it.
But before we get into the “7 Steps” let’s define what FINANCIAL WEALTH is:
Certain economists say that FINANCIAL WEALTH is to have more money than needed to cover our prime necessities. Enough to plan our financial future with peace of mind.
For some others to feel they have FINANCIAL WEALTH, means to have huge quantities of money. For others it’s just having enough for certain things. Either way, to have money, is the main goal.
THE SEVEN STEPS that I will share with you now, will help you draw a plan to reach that dream objective … and more…!
Let’s start …
First step: YOU MUST DEFINE CLEARLY AND PRECISELY WHAT YOU REALLY WANT.
Many people fail in life because they don’t really know where they want to go or what they want out of life. You can hear them saying: “I want to make a lot of money … I would love to travel the world … I would love to have a beautiful house… I want this or that…etc, etc, etc.” But the truth is that they don’t really know what they want …!
So our first step now will be to take pencil & paper and write about what you really desire out of life in a clear and precise way.
I can hear you asking….
Is that really needed . . .? Why . . . ?
It’s very simple…
If you don’t know where you are going, how do you know when you have arrived…? How to strive for something if you don’t if you don’t know for what…?
That’s why you’ll take a 3x5 card and put it in your pocket or purse or any other place that will be easy to reach. For a whole week, every time you think of something that you would like to have or have to do, write it down on the card.
Let me give you some ideas of things you might want: a new home… a second home… a new and better car … amount of money you want to earn monthly or yearly … where to go for your dream vacation … how much you want to save … etc, etc.
Once you do this, you will have taken a big step toward your FINANCIAL WEALTH.
Next you will:
1- Write everything in the order you feel is most important for you.
2- Write the date when you would like to reach the goal.
3- Figure out the amount your goal will cost or the amount you want to earn each month or each year.
Let me give you an example to make it easier: Let’s say you have decided to earn $10,000 a month starting six months from now. (This might sound impossible to you, but the amount you can earn is unlimited, (you can do it … if only you can believe it). Write this amount and date clearly … and keep it in a place where you can see it every day as a reminder of your goal or goals.
With this you have finished STEP ONE toward your FINANCIAL WEALTH. It wasn’t so difficult, was it…?
Second Step: FIND A FINANCIAL VEHICLE (WAY) THAT WILL HELP YOU SECURE YOUR GOAL.
There are proven ways that will help you get your FINANCIAL GOAL. The first one everybody thinks of is a JOB: but the word JOB means Just Off Bound …!!
The reality is that just a handful of individuals may claim that they got their FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE through a job. It really does not have to make sense to repeat the same mistakes other people have already encountered:
FACING RETIREMENT DEPENDING ON THEIR INCOME FROM THE SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM ONLY.
Definitely this is not a way that I will suggest you follow.
GETTING A COLLEGE DEGREE for many people is the way to go, although any one can tell you that having a college degree will not give you the financial security you are seeking.
More and more graduates everyday find out that they must really be lucky to get a job where they can apply and get paid for all the knowledge they got in college.
AND MY OPINION IS, that going to college is a necessity, but will not secure your financial future at all. You must find a vehicle that will lead you to obtain your financial goals. I will mention three “ways or vehicles” that you can look at … and I will point out the I have chosen.
VEHICLE NUMBER ONE: Start Your Own Business.
Having our own business is one of the dreams many people would like to achieve in life.
Having a business will give you a lot of positive things, like: freedom to act …, being able to apply your creativity…, face daily challenges that will help us become a better person, etc. Also having a business will give us a lot of headaches, with things like employees, big investments, inventory, etc.
Statistics show that 95% of all business will fail within the first 3 years.
To start your own business you will need experience and knowledge of what you will be doing. If you have the energy and don’t mind the challenges this will be a great option … Instead of going for a job where you take most of the blame and maybe a little recognition, you’ll be doing it for yourself.
VEHICLE NUMBER TWO: Franchises.
This can give you all the advantages of your own business and will also eliminate the risks that a traditional business offers.
Out there you can find a lot of successful franchises, but they all require a HUGE amount of money to start up. If you don’t have that kind of money to start, chances are you will not be able to take that path.
On the other hand, if you have the money this could be a fantastic vehicle to achieve your financial freedom.
VEHICLE NUMBER THREE: Direct Selling.
Dr. Charles King from the University of Illinois in Chicago called network marketing “the last bastion of our capitalist world to achieve financial independence with little investment …” Direct selling is also known as “multilevel” or network marketing.
You can find a great number of companies developing direct marketing approaches and, in a constant way, they have helped a lot of people to be financially free.
These companies will supply all their members the necessary information and guidance to help them achieve their success.
They give all this help – and much more- merely because the only way for these companies to be successful is by helping their members to become successful first …!!!
Which is a very interesting point ….. Because it’s not always that we find- when starting a new business- experienced people willing to share their knowledge and experience with us, so we can obtain success…!!!
This is the vehicle I chose, and these are the four main reasons for my decision:
1- Little start up money.
2- Tremendous opportunity to have passive income.
3- An incredible change to expand internationally.
4- To maximize my self-development in quantum leaps. It gave me the opportunity to help myself by helping others obtain what they want in life, as mentioned by Zig Ziglar in one of his books as the formula to be successful.
That’s why I’m always looking for a few special individuals that will like to duplicate what I have done…
If you are the type of individual with the right desire;… who is willing to learn … has a dream to fulfill … and … would like to team up with a winner, someone that really knows what he/she is doing, please, go to losefatnow.usana.com and click on opportunity. I had to pay the price to lean with a lot of hard work and trial and errors … you don’t have to go through the same thing…! Team up with me and I will share with you all my experience and hard obtained knowledge of all these years, so you can obtain faster results.
Don’t wait, go now: losefatnow.usana.com
Third Step: STAY AWAY FROM NEGATIVE PEOPLE.
Take this suggestion very seriously.
PLEASE…, PLEASE …stay away from those people who only talk, think or act in negative ways … Negative people will take you down with them .. Don’t let anyone steel your dream…!!!
Find new friends if you must … Life is too short to let it be jeopardized by negative influences.
Fourth Step: DON’T BE A HUMAN LOBSTER.
I will include a poem by Dr. Orrision Swett Marden that explains every clearly what I mean by being a lobster:
THE HUMAN LOBSTER
A lobster,
When left high and dry among the rocks
has no instinct and energy enough
to work his way back to the sea,
but waits for the sea
to come to him.
If it does not come,
he remains where he is and dies…,
ALTHOUGH the slightest effort
would enable him to reach the waves,
which are perhaps within a yard of him.
THE WORLD IS FULL OF HUMAN LOBSTERS:
PEOPLE STRANDED ON THE ROCKS
OF INDECISION AND PROCRASTINATION,
WHO,
INSTEAD OF PUTTING FORTH
THEIR OWN ENERGIES,
ARE WAITING FOR SOME
GRAND BILLOW OF GOOD FORTUNE
TO SET THEM AFLOAT…!!
(This step does not need further explanation). JUST … DON’T BE A HUMAN LOBSTER !!!!!!!!!
Fifth Step: TAKE ACTION !!!
If you decide to do something …, you know you want it with all your heart … but don’t take action, nothing will happen …!!! You MUST research, you MUST think, but by all means you MUST take action …!!
Not making a decision is a decision itself. You have to ask yourself … how can you get where you want to be if you don’t start any movement…? If you don’t take the first step…?
Act today. DO NOT leave for tomorrow what you can do today !!!!!
Sixth Step: ALL EXCUSES ARE EQUAL.
No matter which excuse you can give …, or which excuse you choose to give … there is NOT a good reason to be a failure …!!
Look back five years, can you see yourself at that time..? What happened during those five years…? Did you get what you wanted…? If not …, WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE…?
It’s hard to face reality … It can HURT to face reality … I can understand that …I’ve been there many times … But I can also tell you … “Don’t look back to recriminate yourself … Now is the time to move forward …, now is the time to make the decision …, Now is the time to make the necessary changes to have a fantastic future!!!”
Seventh Step: START SAVING …!!! SAVE …. SAVE … AS MUCH AS YOU CAN …!!!
You can make all the money you want, but if you don’t have a plan to save it, you will never get to your golden mountain!!!
Start with a little … Then increase that amount step by step… You MUST save …, save…, save … and remember … all excuses are equal!!!
These are the seven steps I have promised you, but I must add two more that I learned after I finished with my original plan:
Number Eight: SURROUND YOURESELF WITH PEOPLE THAT KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING, LEARN FROM THEM. APPLY WHAT THEY HAVE DONE, TO GET WHERE THEY ARE NOW.
Number Nine: (This is the most amazing step of all, that’s why I saved it for last):
HAVE TOTAL FAITH IN THE UNIVERSE/GOD/A HIGHER POWER …!!! THANK GOD FOR EVERY THING YOU HAVE …!!! NO MATTER WHAT…!!! AND DON’T FORGET TO THANK HIM FOR THE WEATLH AND ABUNDANCE THAT IS COMING YOUR WAY!!!
Following these seven steps … plus two, you may achieve what you really want out of lie … I can’t promise for sure you will be successful, but .. These STEPS worked for me … they worked for others who, like me, were willing to pay the price … why not for you?
Remember, I am always looking for a few individuals to expand my business. Sharing with them success formulas and secrets to achieve financial independence. Walter Dickson, Ricky Alivera, Susan Randolph and many others are good examples of people who, at one time, were totally bankrupt – emotionally & financially. Today they are making their dreams come true by achieving their FINANCIAL WEALTH…!!!
But if you are full of excuses and think the world is guilty for your terrible life, please…, DON’T JOIN MY TEAM…!!!
BUT … ON THE OTHER HAND … if you are a person willing to learn how to become financially independent …; how to turn disappointment into success …; how to be the best you can be … PLEASE act now…!!!
No more excuses, do it now…!!! losefatnow.usana.com has been tailored to see fantastic results in 30 to 90 days.

On Monday I am having a consult with a homeopath and have given a lot of thought to the approach I want to take to my personal health and wellness as well as sharing that with others. I believe we all need a different approach to health and well-being. Our society is focused on disease-based medicine. I believe that optimal health needs to focus on preventive healthcare. It’s this approach that I am taking.
I have learned that about age 30, we begin to lose 1% to 3% of our hormones. And by the time we reach 40, we start feeling the increasing negative impact this difference causes—often complaining of having no energy, becoming apathetic, which extends to our work, sex life and social life. (I hear this from male and female clients all the time!) What do we do? Of course we blame these feelings on “getting older.”
Women also tend to feeeeeeeeeeeeeel a sense of loss, feeling life isn’t what it once was. Many also experience weight gain, difficulty sleeping, forgetting things, feeeeeeeeeeeeeling unclear in their thinking, having emotional swings, feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling anxious, becoming irritable, lossing skin elasticity, becoming less productive at work, having aches, pains and stiffness.
When you have someone willing to look at your total picture of health —not just a snapshot— deficiencies can be identified and corrected. Great news, yes?
I choose to have the best opportunity for a more vigorous and healthy life. As a firm believer in the science of age management medicine and my desire to be placed in the lowest possible risk category for disease—particularly heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease—and my desire to extend my health span, I have become a user of a product that is creating more health and wellness within me.
I can't say I understand the glycemic index fully - I do know you can get more information at www.gylcemicindex.com- I see how eating a lower gylcemic index has made me feeeeeeeeeeeeeel better mentally and physically. It has also gotten my husband Mark close to normal blood sugar numbers instead of being high and being considered for higher doses of medications to control his diabetes. I must say his doctor is puzzled! Of course he is puzzled, he only knows how to prescribe medication and doesn't practice preventitive health!
After all, without health, what kind of life, if any, will you have?Learn what over 300,000 people worldwide already know!

Building a Coaching Practice While Working a Day Job
There are many steps to building a practice while maintaining a day job. People transitioning into coaching take these steps at different rates. Some do it in a few months and others may choose to take a year. There is no "right" timetable; there is only the timetable that is right for you. Do not judge yourself if you see others moving toward a full practice faster than you. You will move when you are ready.
When you enter the world of coach training you have entered a wonderful, elating, challenging place that is filled with a continuum of emotions. Don't panic and run:) The reward at the end is worth the work. You will have a job that truly satisfies you. You will be making your own hours. You will be interacting with clients who have energy, dedication and big plans. You will get to tap into the very best of yourself every day. You will have a serene and simple life that is easy to live. And most importantly, you will be happy.

The Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything!
Once I discovered the secret to living in flow, I felt I discovered the answer to life, The Universe and everything! When I let things happen and don't push to make things happen, I find I am peaceful and joy-filled. Whatever happens is ok. Certainly I do have some preferences and desires. Those preferences and desires are not musts and I am not attached to those outcomes. I simply accept what life brings my way.
This weekend was amazing as I stayed in my flow state... dinner with great friends, great food and great wine... a party with friends on Saturday and time with my husband Mark on Saturday night and then visiting with neighbors, spending time with my dad, enjoying a wonderful meal as a family, and swimming before bed! Ah, the joy of just letting it all flow over me.

Las Vegas Shooting
It is my last day of vacation and I just returned from Las Vegas. I went to physical therapy a bit tired and glad to be home. While at therapy the team was talking about a Las Vegas shooting and how lucky I am that I returned. The conversation continued for a long time.
I then came home and my Dad quickly shared what he read about the Las Vegas shooting.
I came to my office and found that one of my friends emailed me about this Las Vegas shooting.
I ask myself "why" are we speaking about this and causing ourselves to focus on the negative and what could have been? I live in flow and don't worry about shootings, or terrorists or illness. I just take in that whatever is, "is".
I don't try to control situations, circumstances or people and don't allow my peace and happiness and my desire to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel good to be interrupted by thoughts about how the world is wrong or people are bad, etc.
Certainly I would prefer that the world had peace and love and kindness and people weren't filled with confusion, hatred and evil. The truth is, that some people are this way. I certainly won't spend my day thinking about them or the circumstances they create. I do send healing energy to those injured and my prayers for them and their families and I also send healing and light to the person who is so confused and angry to do such a thing.
As uncomfortable as it is, it simply is. I can't control it or the person who did it and I can't make those injured heal. I accept what happened as the flow of life and certainly have a preference for peace and kindness worldwide.

iphone
Watching TV commercials and overhearing conversations everywhere I have been in the past month or so, I hear about the iphone over and over. I do admire Apple and think they are a clever company, ahead of the curve and really creating products based on people's desires. What puzzles me is why everyone has to rush out and get the latest toys, like the iphone.
People who have little or no money are willing to spend a few hundred dollars on this instead of making payments on their credit card debt that they already have.
As a coach I began to notice my own client's patterns and realized that many of my clients, when they first came to coaching, had a simliar pattern of having to get the latest thing on the market. As they have come to realize that spending money and getting toys isn't the source of their happiness, they buy less, have a simplier life and are much, much happier.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying don't buy this product and who knows at some point I may be writing this from my own iphone... what I am saying is think before you buy anything... take time to feeeeeeeeeeeeel why you need or desire to make a purchase and to evaluate what you currently have and what you really need vs. what is cleverly marketed or might be you trying to keep up with others.
Take your time before you spend money and in my experience you will have more money!

Chicken A' La King and Paul Simon
I was listening to an old Paul Simon song while eating my chicken a'la king and began thinking about how many wonderful memories songs and music bring to me. When I listen to an older song I typically recall where I was when I heard it, who I was with and what period of my life it was. In this case the song reminded me of my best friend in college, Debbie. We were in our dorm room laughing about the song and they asked people to call into the radio station with their version of the song and I did. Most of what I said was bleeped out! Anyway it was great fun and college antics, which was a wonderful time in my life.
My coaching clients also remind me of songs. The other day when I was coaching a wonderful and talented new client who wants to start his own business, he kept saying, "There's a chance...". He used these words over and over. About an hour after our session I found myself at the computer doing some work and singing, "There's a chance peace will come..."! Of course I then reflected on him and smiled and continued singing!

Hatshepsut Discovered?
One of the most prolific pharaohs of ancient Egypt, Queen Hatshepsut's tomb is said to have been discovered. Queen Hatshepsut was a queen who commissioning hundreds of construction projects throughout both Upper and Lower Egypt.
As I thought about her and her legacy I wondered what legacy I could leave. I am deeply concerned with having people of all ages, around the entire world learn coaching skills and I am on a mission to have that happen. I am expanding on that and wanting to be the leader in bringing coaching to those in greatest need.
Thanks Queen Hatshepsut for inspiring me further!

Chris and Nancy Benoit
I am not an avoid fan of of watching people wrestle and only have caught glimpses of the sport yet I had heard of the WWE superstar Chris Benoit. I was shocked to hear that Chris, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel are dead and their bodies were discovered in their new home in Atlanta.
I didn't hear the details of their deaths and was sad that another tragedy like this occurred. I wonder how many others occur that aren't in the press and publicized because the person or the family killed weren't wrestlers or celebrities?
I ask you are you committed to living in peace? I am. Can there be a way for people to live together without violence? Can't you agree enough is enough? Do you agree we have to find a way to end the violence? Does your stomach turn when you hear stories like this? Don't you agree that if people had life coaches they would have better ways to cope than to kill other people? Have you ever thought what it would be like if everyone on the planet had a coach to keep them in balance and to teach them ways to handle their violent streaks? Isn't this an interesting thought?
Should we find a way to get coaching to everyone to make a serious difference in the world? What if we could teach people how to deal with their anger and hate and shift those thoughts? Wouldn't you agree that 3 lives have been wasted here and who knows how many others were wasted today?
My big vision is to bring coaching to the masses and to create a better society with more peace, more joy and more ease. Let's get the violence to stop.

The Full Moon, Does It Cause Clarity
I am pondering whether the equinox, the full moon, the solstice has has led people to more clarity. I first found myself feeeeeeeeeeeling calmer and more at peace and then as I gazed at the full moon began to feeeeeeeeeeeeeel clearer in my thoughts.
I shared this with a friend who said he had similiar feeeeeeeeeeeelings. He had noticed the moon and was admiring it's beauty and he remembered the solstice and sat thinking about the moon and the new season and feeeeeeeeeeeling grateful for his time on the planet and felt clearer in his thoughts.
Then today a client I was meeting with asked me, "Don't you think a full moon causes clarity?"... I had never thought about that yet connected my feeeeeeeeeeeelings, my friend's feeeeeeeeeeeeelings and her feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings and believe the equinox with it's beautiful full moon, when appreciated does cause clarity!

That Goddess Feeeeeeeeeeeling?
A few years ago while on vacation in Vegas, my girlfriend and I each picked up caps that said "Goddess". When we put them on with both said we felt special.
That day at the pool we lounged while our husbands brought us food and the waitress brought over drinks. We read, we laughed, we chatted and we felt great.
That night we decided to be silly and to wear our caps to dinner and while we played some slots. We both shared that we felt like we were a goddess and that we began to feeeeeeeeeel really great about ourselves and felt a lot of joy.
Ever since receiving my Goddess cap, it resides in my office where I see it all the time and it is the cap I wear most often, too. Just seeing and breathing in words can have us resonate more with those words and especially to those feeeeeeeeelings and we attract the things we feeeeeeeeeeel most about. So, I have shifted my energy to become more in alignment with thinking and feeeeeeeeeeeeeeling like a goodess and I attract more things back that continue to have me feeeeeeeeeeeel like a goddess!
What feeeeeeeeeeling would you like to attract?
How about putting that on your wall, or wearing that around?

Longest Day of the Year
Today is the longest day of 2007 and for me I will take advantage of each precious second the day that unfolds. I expect great things and will accept with flow each thing as it comes to me.
I will honor all people I meet and have patience and kindness for others and I will also accept myself fully and be loving to myself. I will take the time to be with friends and family and to care for my health and well-being.
Most of all I will appreciate my time on this planet and remember, during the longest day of the year, I have more time to appreciate the day!

Living From Soul
Studies show that by age 7 we are already filled with should's and guilts and have begun to loose our true, free spirit - our unique soul. We fit into rules and hold beliefs based on parents and teachers and friends. We stop being who we are in our true core and begin to mold into someone who is un-true to their unique spirit.
Then we go through life never being completely fulfilled... feeeeeeeeeeeeeling like there is more, yet not knowing what is missing. We get into the cycle of work, come home, sleep, work, etc. and we don't fully connect with people or things. We aren't present to our lives and have given up our dreams and desires and go on feeeeeeeeeeling like something is missing from life.
What is missing is our selves. We yearn to be reconnected to that inner voice of who we are and we hear it calling to us. We long to be authentic to who we are and what we want. We want to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel free and happy and to love and be loved fully and enjoy each moment on this planet getting all the juice we can from our experiences.
Coaching allows adults to get back to their souls and to find their inner voices. It opens people up and frees them to find their inner spirit and to do what they love and love what they do. It is my honor to be a soul coach to so many EXTRAordinary people and to assist them to create the lives that are authentic to them.

Coaching Myself Back to My Ideal Body
From my Achilles injury last September and being in bed or a wheelchair for about 4 months and not having full use of my leg until recently, I have gained weight. I am also on medication for the RSD that I have, which causes weight gain.
My doctor told me to give up trying to lose weight and to "accept this is how my body is due to injury". I thought about what he said and found it didn't resonate. I feeeeeeeeeeeel better with less weight and my body feeeeeeeeeels stronger when I am lighter.
So, I have been following the coaching principles from my book "Create Your Ideal Body" and am coaching myself to healthy weight loss without dieting, pills or lots of exercise (which I can't yet do anyway!). I know it will be more difficult to lose as I can't move about much yet and the medication slows my metabolism, yet I know coaching is the answer.
I am feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling better since making this decision and can't wait to see the Dr. in 4 weeks;)

Are You Willing To Have More Ease in Your Life?
Are you happy with your current life and how it flows? Can you use more ease and less effort? Can't you imagine waking up each day knowing things flowed as they should and being in perfect harmony?
Did you ever have such a harmonious day?
Do you agree that life is about enjoyment, fulfillment and happiness? Does your life currently have all the joy you desire?
Don't you want more happiness in your life?
Have you ever dreamed about having things you desired coming to you with ease?
Haven't you ever wondered why you are struggling so much and working so hard?
If you could learn to create your life in an easy, effortless and joyful way, is this something that you would like to hear more about?
Shouldn't you review the opportunities learning coaching skills brings to you?
Wouldn't it be worth it to learn these skills (even if you have no intention of coaching for a profession) if there was no risk?
If I would promise and gurantee to you create your life with more ease would there be value in it for you?

The Secrets of Coaching Revealed
I believe there are 3 secrets that great coaches have in common. I have studied coaching and coaches for almost 10 years now and have been with newbie coaches up to super experienced coaches and I have come to see that EXTRAordinary coaches share some common secrets.
Of course, I love to let them out so that everyone can have them!
First, they aren't afraid to be tough or edgy with clients... they make observations that are true for them and they don't hold back with those observations or fear the clients reaction.
Second, they don't get caught up in client stories and don't allow the client to go on and on and on. They focus the coaching session quickly and shift right to the essence of what it is the client needs.
Third, they make HUGE requests of the clients and have them take bigger actions than the client is typically willing to take. They get the client to take these actions by supporting them and giving them loving pushes. They are strong when they make these powerful requests.
I know that anyone can learn the skills of coaching and have been teaching them for years. It is the art of coaching that comes with practice and by being trained by a masterful coach.

A Coaching Lesson
Ok, here is what happened a few weeks ago that I have to get out of my system. I was in a store and the line was slow, the cashier was new and was making mistakes. I was waiting and during the wait was visioning my goals and focusing on feeeeeeeeeeling my joy, and bascially enjoying the down time to just be.
A woman in front of me started yelling at the cashier. Then a man behind her began cursing at the cashier. Within a few seconds the entire line (except for me a few other folks) were yelling and complaining and carrying on.
This, of course, didn't help the cashier do better at the job, but instead put more stress and pressure on the cashier who now was slower.
The coaching lesson?
Live in flow. Let the things that happen, happen. They are all part of the wave of life. Stop rushing. Stop making other people wrong and just be and be in flow.

I have learned so many valuable lessons over the years and none as valuable as living in flow. I used to stress over things, worry about things and be concerned about "what if this or that happens". About 2 years ago I began shifting to a new attitude. This attitude is what I call flow.
Flow means that you ride the wave of life and don't push against the wave. Sometimes things work perfectly and you are on top of the wave feeeeeeeeeeeeeling great. Other times things happen and you feeeeeeeeeeeeel like the wave is taking you out to sea. Like on my recent vacation... luggage didn't make connecting flight... spent a day without suitcases... rental car had no air conditioning in the back (where I was sitting)... my RSD caused me a lot of pain and I couldn't walk far... flight home was 5 hours late and then luggage took about 45 minutes and finally, the shuttle to take us to our car didn't come for one hour... and so it is... flow...
I didn't get upset or keep bringing these things up in my mind and doing "what if" or "poor us" thinking... I simply went with what it was and lived with it, fully accepted it and did what I could do without pushing against any waves.
And I must say, my vacation was EXTRAordinary and perfect as it was...

All My Bags are Packed...
Yes, I am getting ready to spend some time off with family and friends. We plan to swim, visit the zoo, look at vacation homes (just for fun!), eat healthy and I plan to walk! Yes, I am walking now and although not quite as fast or with the same gait I used to have, I am thrilled to be walking and celebrate this every day.
I know that when I get off the rest of my medications, which I am planning to be off before the end of June, I will be able to lose the weight gain which the medications have caused and also able to be more focused.
Today my physical therapist said, "your Achilles rupture was a blessing"... she was referring to greater problems I might have had in my leg... and while she was thinking about the physical part of the blessing I was thinking about the true gifts.
New friends, re-connection with old friends, clear business focus, time to write, very, very deep soul work, learning how to slow down and be still, seeing life from a new perspective and letting go.
I live now in true flow... each thing comes in and out and I let it be.
Life in this way is more joy-filled!
So, I may not be posting for awhile as I plan to fully connect and be with my friends and family and will be leaving on a jet plane soon!

Coaching Basic Skills: Responding
The coaching skill of responding is really one that is an art. It is a way of hearing what a person says, fully and deeply, and then relating what was said back to the client's personal core. When the coach responds the client then knows they have been heard deeply and understood.
Because responding is more of an art than a coaching skill it is more difficult to teach. What the coach must do to respond is to first tune into the coaching client as they listen with a quiet non-judgmental mind. When I teach coaching skills to new coaches I always talk about connecting in from the heart and listening with the heart and I say to the coach, "respond from your heart... trust your inner voice..."
My goal in www.CoachInstitute.com is to provide professionals with a comprehensive coach-training program that recognizes and builds upon their existing skills and expertise to help them quickly and easily learn coaching skills and successfully transition into the coaching field.

Coaching Skills You Need To Know: Reflecting Back
Reflecting back is a time-honored communication skill. Reflecting back means the listener fully listens and tunes into a speaker and then explains what they heard not only from the words but from underneath the words - from the feeeeeeeeeeeeeelings. After a person reflects back, the speaker can then clarify what they wanted to say or check that what they did say was what the listener got.
Before you reflect back it is important to quiet your mind (we have a GREAT visualization tool for this at www.CoachInstitute.com). The listener then tunes in and focuses on the type of language the speaker uses, the feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings beneath the words and they hear the information with no reaction.
When the speaker is complete, the listener then shares what they heard, in a charge-neutral, non-judgmental way. After the listener shares what they heard they check in with the speaker by saying something like, "Do I get this right?"... or "Is this what you meant?"...
Reflecting back is not about debating what the speaker said. Reflecting back is a way to gain clarity.
Wouldn't it be cool if some readers posted what they heard me saying?

Executive Coach Fired Up on Speed!
Yep, I feeeeeeeeeeeel like I am fired up on speed! I have a client from a large corporation who set 16 goals to achieve in 90 days and we had to create speedy results for him to keep his position. We cranked out sessions, shared emails and faxes and 63 days later he met every goal! He jazzed me and fired me up.
What an awesome executive to have the honor of coaching! We are now working on really lofty goals (in a slower time frame) and we are amped up! I am so turned on when I coach executives who really are serious about business goals, being successful and creating profits!
I am craving another executive to coach who has me at full coaching speed. Don't forget I am a race car driver and the feeeeeeeeeeeeeling of speed is what I need!
Ok, I am in the car waiting to drive!

Free Coaching Tip: Hearing Without Reacting
Wanted: People serious about coaching business leaders and managers to create more profit and more success! This tip is for them and as I was sharing this with my business clients I decided to share it publically as well.
Hearing without reacting is one of the key skills a business leader, manager, internal coach, HR director and anyone in business, needs to master.
Hearing without reacting means you listen with no judgment.
I know I hit this last blog and yet it is still up for me today as I find myself working with small business and large corporations on this same topic.
If you want to be a person who hears neutrally, you must set aside your agenda, feeeeeeeeeeelings, ideas, thoughts, right and wrongs and listen with compassion and for people's gifts.
You will find people are brilliant and are unique diamonds if you allow their gems to be discovered.

Hearing Without Reacting?
I was doing a live coach training last week and as I was teaching hearing without reacting I observed people reacting as I was sharing this information with them. Hearing without reacting is one of the most valuable skills a coach learns. As coaches we hear without reacting which means we don't judge anything a client says to us - not at all. We don't wear the judgment robes and we don't decide if the client is right or wrong, at fault, or not at fault, or good or bad.
We accept the client as they are and what they say as what is for them.
When thinking about life coaching or business coaching understand that we as coaches do not fix people or groups of people. Our role is to hear neutrally where the coaching client is and where the coaching client wants to be and then to co-create ways to assist them to get to where they want to be in their life and/or work.
New life and business coaches share with me that letting go of reaction and judgment is tough. I agree. As humans we have been hard-wired and conditioned to believe our thoughts are "right". Giving up our attachment to being right takes practice.
If you are considering becoming a life coach or business coach or if you are a personal or professional coach now, I encourage you to quiet your own thoughts and your own mind. (We have a great excercise we teach our students at www.CoachInstitute.com for this!).
As you listen, focus only on your coaching client and tune out everything else. Fully accept that the clients values and goals will be different than yours.
If you do any personal or business coaching or have thought about training to become a life or business coach, the skill of hearing without reacting is key.
I encourage people to use this skill with family and friends as a side benefit, too.
Deeply tune in, hear without reaction and you'll be ready for more coaching skills and tips!

Awaken Your Inner Coach
I believe within each of us lives our authentic core selves. I also believe we have forgotten that person and we have come to live filled with shoulds and have to's. When I am coaching clients I assist them to reclaim their power and to get to know themselves really, really well. They find their inner coach and connect once again with their core being. Through this process I call Soul Coaching, they detoxify their bodies and minds and open up their spirits and souls to their inner coach! From this balance of body, mind and soul connecting once again, my clients harness the deeper power they hold within. Life coaching is soulfully satisfying.

Profiting in Business: Business and Executive Coaching for Your Organization?
Coaching is happening in organizations around the world. Organizations that are small as well as organizations that are Fortune 100 companies all benefit from corporate coaching. When a business has an executive coach for their leaders, their leaders shift from managing and they start coaching which yields better outcomes. The business has greater profits as employees become more productive when coached.
When the organization embraces corporate coaching the employees learn coaching skills as well as the leaders and the entire team collaborates towards corporate goals.
Corporate coaching is necessary to achieve the results companies want and executive coaching paired with corporate coaching has shown highly effective outcomes and long term outcomes for organizations.
The principles of a program like this are what I shared in my bestseller Stop Managing, Start Coaching. The program has been used with over 100 small to large businesses and has rave reviews.
My goal is to co-create better outcomes for people and companies around the world.
Work can be joy-filled and when employees feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel good, they produce results and are happy to do so!

Become a Life Coach and Find Romance?
Yes by becoming a life coach you just might find you fall in love with yourself more, you have more love for others, you become more attractive to others and you have more friends, and more loving relationships.
I know that when I decided to become a life coach I had more time to just "be" with myself and to get more familiar with my positive aspects. I also had more self confidence and self worth. I liked myself more and took more time to care for myself.
I also opened up to people more wanted to know them and understand them and be with them. I attracted new friends, new community and even new hobbies in addition to my life coaching career.
My marriage became even stronger as I had more time to be with my husband. And without the everyday stress from a JOB and doing the work I really loved from my home, I was able to be more focused on him and our marriage. I got more compassion and more patient, too.
So if you want more loving, life coaching may just be your ticket!

Coaching Saved My Life
Before I became a coach my life was very different than it is today. It was filled with stress and tension and lack of ease and flow. I was pushing, I was struggling, I wasn't eating right and I was barely sleeping. I was on a downward spiral and didn't even feeeeeeeeeel like I had a life. Somewhere I lost life and just became a doer of tasks.
When I discovered life coaching I said, "I need a life so a life coach just might do it!". I hired my first life coach to help me feeeeeeeeeeel alive. We began the life coaching focusing on work-life balance. Later we focused more on whole life success. My life coach helped me create a successful life overall and I got my life back!
Through life coaching I discovered hobbies, adventures, dreams and passions and became alive and vibrant. I found time to be with those I loved and I created new friendships and new organizations and communities to play with. Without life coaching I would have continued
on a downward spiral feeeeeeeeeeeeeling lost and dead.
I am grateful to my life coaching and for the profession of life coaching.

Imagine A Coach Like Judge Judy?
When I was about to become involved with a corporation to provide coaching leadership lessons, the CEO kept claiming, "I am a coach, too". I am guessing he took his coaching lessons from a Coaching for Dummies book because he reminded me of Judge Judy! He was harsh and scared the rest of the leaders and they tried to avoid him.
When I suggested that coaching was about being positive and supporting people, he claimed, "That is personal life coaching and not what I need to do with my team". He believed he was the expert coach in this situation and so I decided to walk away from this leadership coaching project.
I only work with organizations and people who want coaching as a way of life and want coaching lessons to create more success. I use a lot of techniques and theories from positive psychology and believe that each person's self is always to be maintained and never to be broken down. I see life in a positive way and people in that same light.
At the company I am referring to above they claimed they wanted coaching to teach their leaders new skills that would drive people towards success once they learned coaching skills. What I found is the Judge Judy approach was far from coaching and I was not going to change the CEO (who claimed he was the expert coach) to become a person who had skills in coaching and understood what coaching really was.

Filled With Joy
I had a wonderful weekend visiting my niece and her family and NY state this weekend followed by a visit with my nephew and his girlfriend at college on the way driving back home.
It was fun being with family and my great niece and nephew are so much fun to be with and to watch grow!
I got to see Isaiah play softball (he is 8) so that was fun to watch as he and the other kids are still learning the skills of the game! He got on base all three times, and so that was exciting!
And then I got to see Melody (4) in gymnastics! It is remarkable what a child that age can do!
I got home late and before bed was feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling so grateful about the gift of my weekend that I snoozed off with happy dreams.

Magnetizing An Abundant Life
Last night I was interviewed by 2 real pros and they were challenging me and questioning me about the magnetizing process. By the end of the call I proved to them that magnetizing works and that it goes with the Law of Attraction and the Law of Resonance.
To me abundance isn't just money. It is everything from love, health, friendships, joy etc. To have a juicy and full life means, to me, that you are abundantly living and have let things flow into you and you have no struggles and don't push against things.
When I share with people how to magnetize, the immediately increase flow and that flow can be in the form of money, objects, people, things, experiences, etc. that deeply fulfill them.
I will be doing some live magnetizing as part of an EXTRAordinary workshop I will be conducting with Joe Nunziata. If you want more information on some of the concepts of spiritual success you can get a lot of information from www.spiritualsuccessworkshop.com and if it resonates I'd love to be with you in person!

Thinking of Mother's Day
As I am thinking about Mother's Day I have a mix of joy and sadness. I think it is wonderful that we honor and celebrate our Mother's. At the same time I am sad that my Mother is no longer here on this planet in her human form. Even though it is going to be 11 years on May 18th that my Mother transitioned, I still feeeeeeeeeeeeeeel like it was today. There is the sense of loss and grief that has quietly remained with me.
I know my Mother is where she is to be and I am where I need to be and I accept this. Yet, the loss is always there.
I hope if your Mother is with you here and now, that you celebrate her every day and not just on Mother's day.
I honor and celebrate the life of my wonderful Mother, Helen Levine.

Fun Weekend!
This past weekend I went to visit my niece and her husband. Friday night none of us could decide where to have dinner so we finally picked a cheap buffet with a salad bar and by the time we all decided it was late. The place was almost closed up before we left.
Then when we got back to their home and my husband, Mark, found a public auction that had some of the cheapest and silliest stuff I have ever seen. We laughed over the ridiculous items people were selling.
Saturday my niece, Rachel, and I got up early and took a walk around her neighborhood. The sun was shinning, it was getting warm and the birds were singing. Her neighborhood is beautiful so we enjoyed the walk until we saw a HUGE snake on the road that had been run over:(
Then we got Mark, to join the two of us in going to the outdoor market and also in getting me shoes that I can walk in as I can't wear most of mine any longer due to my Achilles injury. He enjoyed the market and got some purchases and I am sure he wasn't thrilled with shoe shopping!
We dropped Mark off to have lunch with Rachel's husband, AJ and the two of them went for BBQ which they love and then went to the Truman Library (and were finally kicked out as they wanted to close). They both seemed to really enjoy it.
Rachel and I began our shopping mission and after hours and hours we finally landed on something.
We got back to her home and sat on the steps outside talking and later remembered we were suppossed to be making cupcakes for AJ's birthday.
Dinner was an experience. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and they had an hour wait and I was starving. While waiting we got to see all the kids in their prom attire who were waiting to dine there, too. The dresses were really puffed out and the girls seemed to all be quite large. It was strange.
During dinner Rachel and I became giddy. We laughed all the way home.
After dinner, Mark went back to work with AJ and then the two of them went shopping for foods for tailgaiting at the Indy race on Sunday. Rachel and I put the auction on again and fell asleep on the sofas!
Early Sunday AJ was shopping again. We packed the Explorer and we were off to the race!
At the race they had dogs to adopt and I fell in love with a dog named Maude. Her brother Harold was at the kennel. I couldn't transport her home though:(
We got a lot of sun and enjoyed the race.
We had dinner and again I crashed when we got home.
Monday morning Mark and I prepared to leave and Rachel took us to the airport.
The weekend was so much fun. We laughed a lot and embarrassed AJ by singing Happy Birthday while tailgaiting!
