Monday Morning

Are Your Monday Morning Dreads Likely to Kill You?

Many people dread Monday’s because it means going back to work they don’t enjoy and feeling the stress of their jobs.

If you keep going along in a job you don’t enjoy and thinking this is what life is about, then wake up. Here are some facts that might get your attention: there are 20% more heart attacks on Mondays than any other day and blood pressure readings on Mondays are higher than any other time as well.

Work-related stress can actually kill you!

If your job is causing you stress, it is interfering with your joy each day, the way you interact with friends and family and certainly causing you more illness as it stress weakens the immune system.

Here are some ways to decrease work related stress that might save your life, too!

1. Take breaks during the workday. Get up and take a walk or get some water or just sit and breathe.

2. At the end of the day, imagine your work and office all tied up in a box… then imagine it is sealed up. Now, imagine a beautiful box with your friends, family, hobbies, and other non-work related activities. Open that box and focus on that box only.

3. On your way home, listen to some music or motivation tapes that continue to remove you from thinking about work.

4. When you get home, take a walk or engage in a physical activity that allows you to quiet your mind and shift your focus to winding down.

5. Laugh more. Find time during the day to allow mishaps to become less serious. Look for the humor in life and smile and laugh more.

6. Finally, get a new career if you can’t reduce your stress. If your job stress is going to kill you or is taking away from you experiencing joy each day and we have only a certain amount of days on planet Earth, why choose to be stressed and unhappy?

Stress related complaints account for 75% to 90% of all physician visits and are were almost all illnesses come from. You DO have a choice. Why not “Work Yourself Happy”?

New Solutions

Coaching Creates New Solutions to Make Life Less Stressful

One of the things that coaching does is to help people stop dwelling on problems and move towards solutions. Rather than constantly thinking about the problem and analyzing it, coaching teaches how to be a solution-based thinker.

My life coaching clients learn to look at each challenging life and work event and to use this process:

1. Be clear on what they do and do not want
2. Find the gap or the area that is not quite right yet
3. View the problem or situation as a thing or experience but not WHO they are
4. Have a list of strategies that have worked with them in the past to cope and also a new list we co-create
5. On a daily basis look for positive aspects and growth in this situation
6. Focus on one goal or issue or concern at a time
7. Each day note their accomplishments and progress

So, what happens is people stop looking at what is wrong or broken and start trying on solutions to find what works best. Together we build a huge resource list so they are not alone on their journey.

This system works so well, clients report they never thought life could be so easy! Isn’t that why we have life coaching.

SkaSYNC

Many of you are aware of the health challenges I have had during the last several years. This included 9 months of a constant sinus infection with high fever that never responded to conventional nor alternative forms of treatment. I also lost my voice from the infections and for over 28 days lost the ability to speak completely. I went through 2 sinus surgeries in 30 days and the second one gave me the ability to speak again and did get rid of the infection. However, I never was healthy. I was fatigued, had nose pain and ear pain and many occasions where it was painful to speak and my voice often was a whisper.

During this time, each day I felt dragged down and no matter what I tried or did, I was in pain.

I tried everything... you name the healer, the medical treatment, the "woo-woo" treatment and I did them all.

I finally decided that this was something I had to live with and gave up trying new treatments.

In October of 2004 I was introduced to a technique that my human mind could not comprehend and frankly I thought was pretty silly. In November of 2004 one of my clients tried this technique for his fear of heights and his constant back pain and stress. Within 3 weeks, he had NO fear of heights, was pain free and relaxed. He looked calm and he told me he was the most relaxed and joyfully he had been in his entire life. That got my attention.

I investigated the technique myself in December of 2004 and was VERY skeptical and even felt ridiculous trying this out, but decided I'd humor myself. I told almost no one about this, as I knew people would laugh.

I had my first visit on December 20 and three short weeks later I had absolutely no more sinus pain, no pressure, a full, strong, clear voice, and super high energy. I also felt more ease and more relaxed.

I had gone to my sinus surgeon for a check up in October and she told me there was so much scar tissue that it might be YEARS till I felt healthy. When I returned for my January visit she said, "I don't know what you are doing but this is A MIRACLE". She reported there was no more scar tissue and my sinuses were "normal" and it looked like I had not had any surgery.

Well, I am a believer. It is now February 11, 2005 and I write this to you feeling fully healthy, very happy and delighted to share my story.

Here is a bit about the technique and I am begging them to find a way to bring this to my readers and clients, so stay tuned!

First the theory:

We are responsible for our own health. All of us experience life circumstances that give us negative stories and programming. We are formed by these negative thoughts. The negative thoughts might be so deep we aren't even aware of them and they block us from having true health.

Stress, anger, depression, etc. not only effect our emotions, they effect our physical health.

Outside solutions only get into our eyes or ears but don't get deep enough to restore vitality and zest.

The Details:

Dr. J. Lechner developed a process called SkaSYNC which is a method for emotional self-management. It coordinates the hemispheres of the brain and allows for amazing positive changes.

This means that we can use a simple technique, no complicated technology, and no doctors or therapists and attain superior results. SkaSYNC uses a technique called Resonance Psychology. This is based on four principles:

1. We all have an inner knowledge which not only know our problems, it knows our solutions and this can allow for self-healing.
2. When inner knowledge is taxed, stress and physical problems arise as the solutions are blocked off.
3. If problems show up, the Inner Consciousness can be activated creatively.
4. If Inner Consciousness is given solutions that resonate it can decide which ones are right.

So, conflict, illness, stress, etc. can be handled without third parties. When the inner knowing gets in touch with solutions it can solve the problems.

Instead of using visual or acoustic messages, the SkaSYNC PHON headsets provide positive affirmations, harmonizing music and sounds of nature which are inaudible.

As your inner consciousness hears the messages it connects to solutions. This "extra-sensory" transmission of consciousness is carried out by scalar wave technology. Each individual and their uniqueness is appreciated by this process. The process uses individual solutions and through the SkaSYNC headsets or PHON, they become harmonized and energized far beyond what words, sounds or music can do.

The methodology is based on increasing your feelings of well-being, which increases your stress resistance and leads to better personal management. Both hemispheres of the brain are coordinated and process the stimulations.

Users report, clear thinking, experiencing ease and feeling good.

As I listened through the PHON I heard nothing but after a few minutes I felt different. My energy flow was different and I did feel more harmonized between my mind, body and soul. I felt an inner peace or inner harmony.

SkaSYNC has been used to balance learning difficulties, concentration problems and hyperactivity in children, too. Those who have experienced a traumatic event also notice a difference in a few weeks.

There is much information to share!

Here are some resources to understand this deeper: www.skasys.com,
www.skaynch.de.

To begin I went through a SkaSYNC test which immediately showed the emotional problem and the best solutions for me. It evaluated the positive energies of the solution without me knowing a thing about it. I just laid calmly and peacefully on a table as the SkaSYNC test sent silent messages to me.

Well, here is the part that does make sense:)

When we get a cut our finger heals... the cells know how to recover. The cells know how to heal. All biological processes are controlled by our Inner Consciousness. This is what goes to work on healing our cut finger.

I think of SkaSYNC as opening up a dialogue with the Inner Consciousness to direct our healing on the inside.

For me, I feel healing has happened, health has been restored and I am healthier and happier and more productive in my personal and business life than EVER before.

I wrote a long testimonial to the center where I had this done and read about a dozen other such amazing stories...

Enough for now... more later...

So many have asked... if you might want to come to the Philadelphia, PA area (IF I can arrange this) and be treated for any negative program, phobia, fear, if you want to stop smoking, attract a mate, deal with a death, post-traumatic stress, trauma, physical or mental illness or you want to loose weight, be better at work or with your kids... you name it, SkaSYNC is something I want to bring to you, so email me and let me know to alert you IF I can arrange this.

Busy Life

Why you don’t do what you say you will

We are all busy in our day to day lives… working, taking kids to events, church, community, taking care of our homes, care giving our parents and many other things, take our time each day.

As a Life Coach, I don’t believe people are lazy or don’t care about bettering themselves… I think they are too caught up in DOING vs. BEING.

When I coach one area of a person’s life… it could be health, money, business, parenting, relationship, or anything else… it has a ripple effect and all other areas of their life improves.

I don’t feel we can solely coach ourselves because we’ll be so busy, we’ll not make consistent, and priority time for this. If you don’t have a Life Coach, you are missing out on improving all areas of your life. Imagine, one day (and possible today) your life on Earth suddenly concludes… do you want to leave the planet without having done something valuable other than cooking, working, driving, cleaning, etc?

How do YOU intend to experience the rest of your life?

Achieve YOUR Goals!

So many life-coaching clients want a slower lifestyle with more health, balance and free time. They have tried to reach goals before but got stopped. They have tried methods that didn’t meet their needs and didn’t fit for them and felt pressure to meet goals and let down when they failed.

When we start to work together they begin to see that making changes like these takes a commitment of a year or so and isn’t the quick fix they have tried before. They start to shift internally very deeply and to become more self-nurturing and self-loving. They find by allowing mistakes and errors and enjoying the humanness of these, actually feels good. The first step in achieving goals is loving yourself more and allowing mistakes.

Coaching vrs Advising

What is the Difference Between Coaching and Advising and Does it Matter?

"Don't take advice from anyone who isn't successful
where you want to be successful." ~ Joe Vitale

Coaching involves working with people who usually, but not always, already have some degree of success but are "stuck" and want to move forward and don't know how. There is, in coach-speak, a "gap" between where they are right now and where they want to be, and this may involve their professional career or their personal life, or both. This may also be on a larger corporate scale or on a small individual level.

Coaching is a co-creative process. Coaches assist clients to accomplish their life goals and dreams and discover and fulfill their purpose in life in a process that involves the client 100%. So, regardless of whether the issue is career related or personal, a Coach will help you find out what it is you really want out of life and "coach" you to achieve it. Coaching is always about YOU. Coaches are non-judgmental and do not provide therapy or tell you what you should do next. You hire a Coach to assist you to design the life you want - not the life thrust upon you by circumstances or parental influence. If you want more of the same, that is somebody else's ideas, you hire a consultant.

Coaches also assist career professionals who have forgotten how to "have a life" and no longer have work/life balance. With the increase in company downsizing and added pressures applied to many career executives, more and more of these stressed out individuals hire coaches to help them ease into a new career or start their own business, or just cope with what they are currently doing with more ease and joy. And they do all this without advising.

Advising is something that consultants do, and in asking a Consultant for advice, you are asking for answers and solutions and action steps you should take to reach a certain result. A coach helps you find the answers to your issues yourself, and in so doing, you learn more about what is really important to you in life, and you become more responsible and more aware on more levels. If you are tired of being told what to do and of living your life according to other people's rules, desires, wishes, and expectations and want to be successful and happy and fulfilled on YOUR terms, in a way that is perfect for you, then you hire a Coach.

The Difference At A Glance

Coaching
Coaches use a process of powerful questions that taps into the client's own "inner wisdom". They don't provide the answers for you or tell you what to do.

Advising
You ask for and receive answers and solutions, given from the consultant's perspective - their "wisdom". You are expected to follow the advice and often left to motivate yourself to move forwards

Coaching
Coaches stay with you while you implement your action plan and remind you about all the other important aspects of your plan that you'd otherwise forget and ignore, such as life/work balance, staying on track, reminding you of other choices you can make, helping you through obstacles, and generally, keeping you focused and accountable.

Advising
Consultants deliver their report/action plan, then their job is done. It is up to you to implement it, follow through and remain self-motivated.

Coaching
The Coach will help you do it YOUR way.

Advising
If you hire a Consultant for their answers, the idea is that you do it THEIR way; after all, that's what you are paying them for.

Coaching
A coach will assist you to achieve your goals, but looks at it from YOUR perspective and assists you in a way that is your way. Coaches care what is important to you, what resonates for you, what is comfortable for you, what brings you joy, what sends you to sleep, and so on...

Advising
A consultant isn't interested whether something is boring to you, or difficult, or doesn't suit your personality, or doesn't matter to you, or what brings you immense joy and satisfaction… that is not part of what they need or want to know. When you ask a consultant for advice, you are getting an answer based on their experience and their personal outlook and their view of your situation from their perspective.

Coaching
A coach will change direction with you when you want/need to change direction. Unless your 'change' is really a disastrous move, your Coach will not 'judge' or make you do something different.

Advising
There is not the flexibility here that you have with a Coach. You do it the way the Consultant says. A simple change of direction is a whole new ball game.

Coaching
Coaches take a broader view of all issues affecting your career/life and incorporate strategies in a holistic sense.

Advising
Consultants are only concerned with the situation you contracted them to deal with. Anything outside that is not in the equation.

In some respects, Coaching is a form of consulting, in that Coaches assist you to solve problems, reach goals, design action plans, and create the desired results. However, unlike Consultants, Coaches also help you move away from the things that don't work in your life, toward things that are more in line with who you really are and what you really want. Life transitions are easier to navigate when worked through with a coach compared to trying to do it on your own. Typically, these types of assistance are not provided with consulting.

If you have no idea what you want to do, all you know is you are not happy right "now", a Coach will help you identify that which truly fulfills you, and establish your "goals", and encourage you to set even better goals that will stretch your boundaries, yet still be in line with who you are and what you want. Then they will help you reach those goals in a way that resonates with you. You will focus with more clarity and obtain results more easily and quickly - all without being told what to do. Your Coach will expect more from you than you would do on "your own", and will provide you with the support to see your dreams turned into reality.

But don't expect a Coach to advise you, although there are Coaches who are also Consultants and will blend the two processes in your favor, with the preference being that you still march to your own drum. When you receive a consultant's advice, you march to the beat of their drum. The question then becomes one of "whose drum would you rather march to?"

Any expert "advice" you receive might be professionally accurate and workable, but might not be something you can work with easily and comfortably - it may not resonate with who you are. It may be very sound advice, and if followed, may achieve the desired outcome, but there are other ways to reach the same "destination" that are more in line with who you are and what you are comfortable doing.

Coaches deliver the goods over a period of months - they don't just hand you a report and go away. When you hire a Coach, even though you won't be told what to do, you will take more successful action more quickly, you will stop putting up with whatever has been holding you back or putting you down, and you will get more of what you want in life. Even though a Coach won't advise you, they can show you new possibilities or options you had not thought of, however, they won't make up your mind for you - you make up your own mind. Obviously, when receiving advice from a consultant, you don't need to make up your mind - the consultant makes up his mind for you, which is fine for some people.

A Coach will offer feedback and examine areas of weakness in your plans and goals and assist to look for opportunities for improvement. Some may even offer suggestions to help your own creative process, but the choices and ultimate decision making is always yours. They use a process of powerful questioning to help you uncover your own answers and solutions, and in the end, what you will have accomplished is in line with your desires and goals - not what somebody else thinks is "the way it should be done."

So, in a nutshell, advising entails telling you what to do and you doing it. Coaching supports and facilitates YOU choosing what is right for you in a way that assists you to achieve your goals. With advice, you do it somebody else's way; with coaching, you do it your way.

As Frank Tyger said, "The trouble with advice is that you cannot tell if it is good or bad until you've taken it."

Coaches won't put you in that precarious position. They will listen fully to you, give feedback and ask you to dig deeper. You will uncover possibilities and your Coach may give you some more to 'consider'. Your Coach will encourage you to explore the options but will never give you the answers - because your coach is not you - and making the choices, finding the solutions, etc. comes from you.

Finally, does it matter? It does if you honor yourself and respect your right to make your own choices and do those things that resonate with who you are. There is more than one way to dance a fling and when it comes to the crunch, our own steps are always the most enjoyable and easiest to 'dance'. A coach will never tell you what steps to do and you always remain the choreographer of your own dance. Rumba, anyone?

Life Coaching Game

Why are Health and Fitness Professionals Getting Into the Life Coaching Game?

Increasingly, health and fitness professionals are affiliating themselves with "life coaches" and offering coaching services with their fitness and nutrition programs. Likewise, they are acquiring coaching skills themselves, enabling them to provide a more holistic service for their clients. It's an added income stream.

They understand how easily thwarted their clients' plans can become by the effect of their lifestyles, and armed with coaching skills, they can assist their clients to achieve a healthier life balance and remove the blockages that prevent their clients from succeeding.

Lifestyle factors influence everything we do. Working long hours, sedentary desk jobs and going home too tired and unmotivated to do anything else is common. Often, it is the unbalanced, disorganized life that negatively impacts our self-motivation and performance. A life coach assists in rearranging these messy lifestyles to simplify and unclutter and assist clients to focus on their goals without distraction.

For today's health and fitness professionals, incorporating a life coaching practice into their existing field of work is easy. They can gain their qualifications via teleclass programs and home-based study. They can achieve their coaching qualifications from various professional coach-training organizations such as www.coachinginstruction.com.

And we'll see more of it - it's a win-win.

Career As A Life Coach

Benefits of a Career As A Life Coach

One of the gifts of this profession is that you chose where to work. Many Life Coaches work in their own home, making a room into an office or even using their living room. Others move to a more accessible location within the area they live, suitable for seeing clients, while some relocate to other parts of the country or the world. Many Life Coaches look to work in a setting with other professionals and some rent office space with skilled professionals. Some work with Chiropractors, personal trainers, and mental health professionals. Some work in gyms, day spas, and yoga studios. Corporations enthusiastically invite Life Coaches to be guest lecturers, paying them up to $1,000 to speak and creating new audiences for them. Churches, synagogues, mosques, schools, libraries, and parent groups are also thrilled to have graduates come speak about the importance of daily self-coaching. There is also the increasingly popular option of distance coaching, working with clients over the phone. The possibilities are unlimited. There is a great freedom in your ability to shape a Life Coaching practice into whatever works for you.

What Is Life Coaching For?

Life coaching is for whatever is on your mind. If you are feeling down, or stressed or just want someone to help you with your job or relationships or health or parenting your kids. A life coach works with you to get more out of life.

A life coach provides you an ear, advice, motivation, inspiration and tailors their coaching to your individual needs. You bring your agenda and the life coach works with you to create more of what you do want and less of what you don’t want in your life and business.

Some coaches work in person, some by phone and some work online. Online is a great way to work for busy people who are comfortable typing. My busy clients love to do this form of coaching. E-coaching is a new way to coach and allows the client to take as much time as they need to think and then write and they get to determine when they want to compose and read the emails. As long as they have email, anyone from anywhere around the world can e-coach with me here in the U.S. Right now I have clients in 7 countries!

Most of my clients e-coach several times a week, which works great. They know their coaching is confidential and so they can “talk” to me about anything from their kids, their boss, their partner, their mom and dad… anything and anyone.

If you haven’t tried e-coaching it may be just the form of life coaching you’re looking for!

The industry needs great coaches who have been well trained. Bennis, renowned business guru and leadership researcher, feels highly trained coaches must lead in the coaching field. He says, "I'm concerned about unlicensed people doing this."

So, if you want to have a career helping others, deeply serving the world, doing the work you love and making fantastic money, get the training and get rolling now!

Mentally Stuck?

What do you do when you're mentally "stuck" and can't seem to solve a problem?

1. Journal about the situation.

2. Talk about it aloud with someone who is objective (like a professional coach).

3. Take a walk.

4. Diagram all possible solutions.

5. Create absurd solutions.

6. List every possible solution and then highlight the ones that make any sense.

7. Forget about it for 24 hours.

8. Use the creative side of the brain and draw or paint.

9. Write answers with the non-dominant hand to engage the opposite side of the brain in the process.

10. Visualize the outcome with all solutions and see which one works.

Dr. Phil Is No Big Deal!

I am so tired of people acting like Dr. Phil provides something new and special.

Come on!

Yes, the guy has charisma but his advice? Get real. A teenage friend could provide me the same, common sense advice. He might be a bit more upfront or blunt about it, yet the message is the same.

I saw 5 minutes of his show and could not believe the general public in America was so naïve as to spend time and money on his products! The problems are obvious one and he doesn’t offer any advice that sets him apart as a credible expert.

I hope that the general public would have enough smarts to see through this guy.

Resolutions Don’t Work!

Every year I hear people talking about making New Year’s resolutions and changing something in their life or work.

By Jan or 5th or by today, January 15, 2005, most people already haven’t started what they committed to or have given up what they began.

Why is this?

Our lives are busy… we don’t keep our focus and we get distracted… we loose motivation or we never had a plan or made a serious commitment to begin with.

Instead of making resolutions to give things up, how about thinking about what you want to let in?

One of my coaching clients said she wanted to gain more health and vibrancy instead of “I want to stop eating junk food”.

The next thing is to have a clear plan. Most people keep doing what they’ve always done and don’t get what they want because they do the same old thing. You must have a clear, concrete, daily action plan to achieve your goals.

For example, one of my clients and I co-created her action plan to start her own business. It includes 5 actions she will take each day to move her closer to her goals. She makes incremental, daily progress and is moving forward.

You must also set up a reward and consequence system. In other words, what is it that will be the reward of making this change (to look better, feel better, have more time, less stress, a new job, make more money, etc.) and what are the consequences of not making it? (Like, loss of job, poor health, lack of money).

There must be enough pain in the consequences that you don’t give up because the pain of not getting what you do want, is too great.

If you want help with the resolution process and want to achieve extraordinary success this year to loose weight, make more money, find a mate, manage better, sell more, raise happier kids, or anything else, my coaching business has a very inexpensive way for you to do this.

See it here and don’t let 2005 come and go with you stuck in the same old place!

Consider Life Coaching

If you want a business with strong marketing tools and one where your services are in high demand, you must consider life coaching. This field has over 16,000 people a month looking for life coaches!

Life coaches attract high numbers of clients as life coaching covers any problem. As a life coach you can coach anyone through anything, so you tap into a broad market.

Life coaches speak with potential clients and offer to do a free needs analysis with them. They listen to find the pain the person is having and then they show how life coaching can assist.

Life coaches find their coach training pays for itself in a few short months if they follow a proven, simple, effective marketing system. At The Coaching Institute (http://www.coachinstitute.com) coaches are taught to overcome their fear of picking up the phone and to breakthrough any fears of self-promotion. They are shown exactly how to promote themselves with 10 methods that work.

The average life coach graduating from such a program earns about $10,000 per month to start if they follow the marketing systems. They get, as part of their training, a predictable system to find them clients and they will successful if they take action on the system.

Life coaches can join service organizations, clubs, and leads groups to find clients because personal coaching can solve any problem.

This work is a former sales persons dream!

The Coaching Institute (http://coachinstitute.com) is the one stop shop for life coach training and the number one place for life coach training and has a complete and comprehensive program.

The owner has been training coaches for 7 years and is one of the most highly paid coaches in the industry. Graduates have great track records by following what is taught at this program.

The program provides the methodology and curriculum to that the graduates will take their own client’s through and even teaches a process for uncovering the client's agenda.

Because this program has a unique selling system it gives people a way to justify the cost of life coach training and assures they will get clients.

Being a life coach creates the best mental feelings about what you do and helping people gives you tremendous pleasure at the end of each day.

You can coach people about marriage, relationships, parenting, finances, self-care, balance, work, their attitudes, health, and weight loss… you name it!

Check out this career now and don’t miss out.

Are You a Workaholic?

Some people have trouble taking time off of work. They forget that their jobs are simply jobs and don’t define who they are or make up their life experience. They measure their worth and value by their role at work instead of by how they produce and add to others lives outside of work.

If you aren’t sure if you are a workaholic or if you know you are and are choosing to live your life vs. work your life, begin here.

1.Get a copy of my bestseller, Work Yourself Happy.

2.Decrease the amount of hours you work each day by at least one.

3.Make some rules and boundaries about checking email, voice mail or being paged during the weekends.

4.Schedule on your calendar fun activities like sports, meeting friends, family time and self-care activities and do this each week.

5.Take a lunch break every day and never eat at your desk.

6.Let go of guilt when you are working less. Sorry to dent your ego, but the world goes on even if you are off. And your life is waiting for you now and might not be in the next moment.

Stressed?

Enjoy the Music of Your Life

Whenever people feel stressed, I share my secret of relaxing fast. I listen to music that I find relaxing, such as Enya. I fully engage myself in the music and close my eyes and breathe and feel the music fully in my body. I focus on the sounds, the images and invite my senses to bask in the music’s energy.

I also allow my mind to paint pictures to the music… beautiful images of joy, sun, light and peace. Within minutes I am feeling more joyful, calmer and free.

Life goes by too fast and this could be your last minute on the planet. You DO have a choice… do you want to spend it stressed or relaxed?

Blended Coaching

Coaching An Organization: Using a Pragmatic/Spiritual Blended Approach

Imagine you are attending a corporate training/coaching session and the session begins with a meditation, and centering, and then stating intentions. Sounds odd, yes? Take it further, and imagine the room is full of accountants, or engineers, or physicians, or attorneys. Sounds really strange, right?

This is what is going on in companies all across the United States. An approach blending pragmatic coach training along with tapping into spirituality is being accepted, and in fact, embraced and adapted as a business practice. Company cultures are shifting and changing to accept spirituality in the workplace.

We have finally realized, after years of pretending the personal aspects of who we are don't come to the workplace, that we can't leave ourselves behind. As companies have learned, our lives outside of work come to work with us, because we are comprehensive human beings. When a company acknowledges and honors that the person we are is the person invited and accepted into the workplace, a more productive and happier worker shows up.

Parental Coaching

Why do parents need to learn how to be parents?

Because no one taught us growing up or at any point in our lives, the skills we need to raise children in the most supportive, effective and stress free ways.

We get flung into a role that we have never trained for and we learn by doing – often making mistakes that hurt our children’s self esteem and/or have us feeling overwhelmed and frustrated as parents.

Some of the things that parents who have learned coaching skills find very useful include:
*focusing on fun;
*deeply listening and connecting with their children;
*better communication with their children;
*how to create mutual respect with your children;
*how to establish good consequences;
*being consistent as a parent;
*being lovingly assertive; curbing their tempers;
*and establishing healthy boundaries.

If you want to begin learning coaching skills to be a better parent, start by showing your kids, consistently and constantly how deeply you love them and that you always love them for who they are even if what they do isn’t so great.

In addition, you can change your language so when your children are doing things that aren’t quite right, you can explain this to them in regards to their behaviors being non-acceptable vs. making the children wrong as people.

I also want you to know that you must ignore many of the negative behaviors you see in your children. By ignoring them, many of the behaviors will go away. So instead of constantly correcting, fixing and policing, find the good in your children and tell them about all the things they do that are right.

Being a parent can be tough. Children are considering things like alcohol, drugs, and sexual activities. You want them to make the “right” choices. To do this, you actually need to loosen up and let them go, once you have taught them to make good choice.

If you don't already have your own copy of the bestselling book, Coaching For An Extraordinary, get it today so you can start to parent with more ease and create successful children. Get complete details here http://www.terrilevine.com/Books.html

Questions

COACHING QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF.

As coaches we help our clients by having them make commitments. You can do this for yourself, too. Ask yourself the following questions and be honest in your answers.

There is no objective coach listening to your answers, so you must really go deep and fully answer the questions and see what surfaces up for you.

Be honest and be clear.

Questions:

What is MOST important to you in life?

Why is this important to YOU?

Can you vision what it would be like having that? Describe it fully.

What feelings would that bring you?

Are you willing to do whatever it takes within reason to reach your goal?

If you have a coach, run your answers by them for feedback. If you want to know more about life coaching go to http://www.coachinstitute.com and if you want assistance, go to http://www.terrilevine.com.

Training Company

The Most Important Things You Should Look For In A Training Company

Look for a company with years of service and solid testimonials. They have passes the test of time and have your best interests in mind. Look for a training company that only uses Certified, experienced coaches and trainers. While some “fly by night” companies may look good on the surface, if they don’t engage your employees, all your money for the training might go right out of the door with no results. Look for a company whose employees are certified as coaches. Only coaches who have learned the coaching skills and fully mastered them should be used. When it comes to training your employees, your best assets, be absolutely certain the people doing the work are incredibly knowledgeable, highly trained and utmost professionals.

Be certain that you choose a training company that has trainers that have met the standard of knowledge and expertise set forth by coaching certification standards. The productivity and profitability wealth of your company can be greatly impacted by your choice of a training company. Training combined with coaching, can increase employee productivity by over 80%. Training and coaching together, can result in over 50% higher net sales per employee, and 40% higher gross profit per employee.

Remember, not all training companies are the same. An uncertified, inexperienced training company can cost you employee productivity, employee profitability and take money away from your business and YOU!

The Stop Managing, Start Coaching program is a full training, coaching and consulting program, serving businesses for the past 7 years. All of our associates are put through our rigorous, Certified Comprehensive Coach certification program where they learn all of the newest, most up to date information about training and coaching skills.

We realize that the investment you make in your employees training and coaching directly effects your profits. We have made an international reputation by providing only the best, most professional training services to our clients, available at any price.

We pledge to you that we take that responsibility very seriously. Because when it comes to YOUR business, second best is simply NOT an option.

More on Disengaged Workers

Gallup reported some causes of workers feeling disengaged:

• They don’t know what is expected of them at work
• They don’t have the materials and equipment to do their work right
• They don’t have the opportunity to do what they do best every day
• They don’t get recognition or praise for good work
• They don’t feel their superior cares about them as a person
• There is no one at work encouraging their development
• Their opinions don’t seem to count
• The mission of the company doesn’t make them feel their work is important
• Their co-workers aren’t committed to doing quality work
• They haven’t talked to someone about their progress
• They aren’t given opportunities to learn and grow

Without a sense of fun, workers will not cooperate. According to John Naisbutt, business people are mourning the death of the work ethic in America. But the new value is fun. Fun fuels the people to be productive. Fun creates cooperation faster than anything else, says Henry Donaghy, Fonaghy Financial Services. If you don’t put people first and make work enjoyable, there will be no profit, according to Rick Ralston, CEO of Crazy Shirts.

Criticizing destroys self-esteem and creates enemies. It does not engage a worker – this from the Universal Traveler by Don Kohbery & Jim Bagnall.

To overcome this and to get workers to be engaged, many companies hire training companies. Here are the top five most costly mistakes they make when hiring a training company.

1. Hiring a training company to give a seminar.
Seminars aren’t’ the answer. Studies show that management and leadership seminar participants forget 80% of what they learn within 72 hours.

2. Hiring a training company that doesn’t include corporate and organizational coaching as part of the package.
Coaching gets results. According to Fortune Magazine, recipients value their coaching 6 times the cost. 77% report improved working relationships with their direct reports, 71% with their supervisors and 63% with their peers. They also noted a marked increase in job satisfaction up 61% and in organizational commitment an increase of 44%.

3. Hiring a training company whose trainers are not properly trained or certified.
Effective training requires an INTENSE knowledge of organizational development, coaching, training and consulting. Lack of skills in any of these areas can lead to a decrease in employee morale and an increase in worker disengagement.

4. Hiring a company that doesn’t provide a year of more of follow up coaching.
Having training without follow-up coaching, doesn’t stick. You won’t get lasting outcomes or the return on productivity improvement and incremental revenues. Training without coaching only results in an increase of 20-25% productivity according to Public Personnel Management Journal. Companies who combine coaching with the training, increase employee productivity over 80% (Bureau of Justice Statistics, June 2001).

5. Hiring a training company without a track record.
The training, coaching and consulting industries are booming and many companies have newly established businesses. Because many lack the business experience, history and real solid experience of achieving outcomes, you can easily throw money right out the door. Would you hire a brand new CEO who had no experience?

I will finish this theme in the next blog, telling you the most important things to look for in a training company.

Laws of Attraction

The Laws of Attraction and Coaching

Just got off a fabulous call with a client where we spent the entire session coaching on the Laws of Attraction. If you aren’t clear on what this is, think of a magnet – like attracts like.

This is my number one tool in coaching and the most powerful way to shape behavior.

Whatever you give focus to, attention to, and think about predominantly, is what you will get. Once a client realizes this, they no longer feel passive in life or like a victim.

The only thing that keeps people from having what they want is their own thoughts. When they are putting out energy or messages or vibrations about lack, they are bringing in more lack. When they open up and allow themselves to think about what they do want and how good it feels to have what they want and believing what they want is coming to them, they are allowing in the energy that is like.

I highly recommend the works of Abraham-Hicks in parallel to coaching and tell my clients to listen to them about making a mantra of “I a going to make the best of this!”

So, what are you focusing on and thinking about and feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling about and vibrating with most of the time? Is that what you want in your life? Instead, focus, feeeeeeeeeel and vibrate what you want and you will attract that.

Getting what you desire is an inside job.

Need help? Access free resources at: http://www.terrilevine.com or http://www.comprehensivecoachingu.com.

Work Yourself Happy

The Work Yourself Happy System: How to create employees who are working themselves happy so that key talent is retained and the work environment is more joyful and fun!

Happy and work… do these words really go together? Most people haven't thought of them together. In fact, the mere thought of Sunday ending and work beginning on Monday morning is enough to throw many people into a semi-depression.

We have come to expect that work isn't fun, it's tough, and it's something we have to do. But, what if we changed that story? What if work became an extension of who we are and what our life vision, mission, and values are, instead of just a boring way to make money and earn our living?

Companies who are embracing this new Work Yourself Happy System soon come to realize that it is partially the organization's responsibility to provide their employees with a work environment and a culture that is both fun and pleasant. They see the benefits in structuring the work place to be one where people enjoy coming to work, and they realize the cost savings in decreased employee turnover, increased employee morale, lower absenteeism, and more productive employees.

Valuable Coaching Article

Becoming a Coach in Every Day Life -
Ten Ways You Can Become More Valuable to Everyone you Encounter

Be the change you want to see occur in the world around you. We can't make other people be more considerate, helpful, honest, etc., but if everyone were to work on themselves and develop these attributes, our world would be a better place.

1. Don't be judgmental. Look for and recognize the good in yourself and in others. We are all capable of so-called "good" and "bad" behaviors and we all have our "good" and "off" days. We are all unique and it is wonderful that we are different and not all the same - in our appearance, our thoughts, our opinions, our likes and dislikes. Being different is not threatening, it is not "bad", it is just "different". Embrace the differences and be happy for the variety. Likewise, forget the concepts of "right" and "wrong". People are not good or bad or right or wrong; they just are. If you were in "their shoes" maybe you would act differently, or maybe not. Being judgmental wastes time and cuts you off from opportunities and meaningful relationships - because you are not perfect either, and your judgment might be worse than the person's you are judging!

2. Respect. Don't make the mistake of thinking your rights are the only ones that count. Don't ignore the other person's rights. Our fundamental right is to be respected. Being wealthy does not make a person more deserving of respect and neither does a high-flying career with a fancy title. Respect is not about material issues or where one sits on the social ladder. Respect is acknowledging another human being's dignity and treating them how you wish to be treated yourself. We all came on to this earth equal and we're all checking out as equals. What happens in between is just a series of different life experiences. The poor man who lives in a slum, who cares for strangers, volunteers assistance without expecting anything in return and lives a clean, honest life is more deserving of respect than a wealthy businessman who dresses in fine clothes, lives in a huge mansion, and treats everyone like pond amoeba, cheats on his wife, swindles his shareholders and has forgotten how to tell the truth.

3. Be a Good Listener. How often do you really listen to other people? How often do you plan what you are going to say next while they are talking, or allow your mind to drift off onto something else instead of concentrating on their every word? It takes practice to be a good listener, but in being one, you are showing respect and in a position to better comprehend the real message being given to you. You avoid misunderstandings and missed instructions. Furthermore, the other person will appreciate your attention and return the courtesy.

4. Be interested - not interesting. This goes hand in hand with being a good listener. People love to talk about themselves and will delight in the opportunity to do so, so ensure you ask questions and take an interest in what they are telling you. Don't worry about them hogging the limelight - you can have your turn during the conversation. Have you ever met someone who only talks about themselves? Count the number of times you use "I" in your conversations. Judging, arguing points, interrupting the conversation, and using "I" a lot are sure signs you need to review your communication skills.

5. Respond from Your Heart. We tend to respond to others using our head, not our heart. We formulate stories about us, we defend our ego, or we judge other people or what they have said. If we respond from our heart, we can respond with understanding and a sense of connection. Find something good to say about people and to people. Build people "up" - don't knock them down. Go with your gut instincts.

Serving Vs. Selling

In my highly rated sales training program, Selling-Without-Selling, I help sales people shift from a selling mindset to a serving mindset.

They learn to use the right words to build relationships and they understand what they say and how they say it is important.

Here are some tips from the program at: http://www.selling-without-selling.com)

1. Language makes a difference: Use language that comes from a place of service, that provides impact and are attractive to your prospect. Make your language simple and without jargon, so you can be easily understood.

2. Create words that come from a place of serving: Instead of scripting the way people have traditionally used this concept in sales, we teach something else. I would never have pre-scripted ways to overcome objections as they sound phony and are highly ineffectual. Instead, create a list of words and phrases that best express what you want to say. Phrases that really feel good to you, that you own.

Self Care

Self Care During Holiday Time

Everyone I meet talks about how busy they are. My personal focus is on not being busy and fully enjoying each second of time on this planet. Instead of being in “doing” mode I am in “being” mode. This, I believe is why I feel less stress.

Before I volunteer for a project, accept a dinner invitation, or say, “yes” to anyone or anything, I check in. I ask myself if I really have high desire to do this thing, and if it were my last few minutes on this planet, if I would choose to do this or something else. Knowing, fully, that each breath might be my last, I then make my choice.

If you want to create a more extraordinary life and feel less stress, here are my golden self-care rules:

1. Sleep 7-8 hours every night
2. Schedule quiet time with yourself daily
3. Meditate at least 5 minutes/day
4. Deeply breathe all day long
5. Eat healthy and keep away from caffeine
6. Keep a journal or diary
7. Say NO more
8. Communicate what you REALLY want to say
9. Celebrate YOU… each day think about all the positive aspects of YOU

Learn To Be Parents

"Why do parents need to learn how to be parents?"

Some of the things that parents who have learned coaching skills find very useful include: focusing on fun; deeply listening and connecting with their children; better communication with their children; how to create mutual respect with your children; how to establish good consequences; being consistent as a parent; being lovingly assertive; curbing their tempers; and establishing healthy boundaries.

To do this, you actually need to loosen up and let them go, once you have taught them to make good choices.

If you don't already have your own copy of the bestselling book, Coaching For An Extraordinary, get it today so you can start to parent with more ease and create successful children. Get complete details here http://www.terrilevine.com/extraordinarylifespecial.html

Shocking Statistics

Today I read some shocking statistics.

Each day in the US, 2861 high school students will drop out… 17,297 public school students will be suspended … 1000 children will smoke their first cigarette… 2739 children will have parents who are divorcing… 4248 children will be arrested… 1329 infants will be birthed by a teenage mother … 8219 children will contract a sexually transmitted disease!

Frankly, this frightens me. As a coach who cares deeply about human beings, I wonder why we raise so many children who never reach their full potential. I think about the parents of these children and I wonder if they had coaching tools, if they’d be able to raise better children.

My experience as a coach, and a trainer of well over 2,000 coaches, is that when we learn coaching tools, we learn what we need to make incredible transformations in the lives of others. This goes for children, too. I believe if we start coaching our children early, we can help them prepare for what life puts in front of them. Our children will be better family members, friends, and workers and be able to meet goals and keep themselves on track.

The reason many adults and their children have so much chaos in their lives, is that we aren’t taught the skills we need to live highly productive lives in our schools. We don’t understand coaching tools because no one ever educated us about them.

When parents learn coaching skills they can help their children make better decisions, solve their own problems better and become better able to adapt to change. When they encounter obstacles they have strategies to deal with them, don’t get frustrated and make good life choices.

Coaching teaches us about the world, about ourselves and about being a human being on this planet. Education teaches lessons in math, English, history, etc, but missed the most important life lessons.

If you want your children to make good choices, be responsible for their futures, and to have the tools to see the consequences for their actions, you must learn coaching skills. Parents who learned coaching skills report their children are more connected to the family, are more positive, more loving and forgiving, make good choices and understand how their choices impact their future.

Coach Training and Why?

Who Enrolls In Coach Training and Why?

Students attracted to Comprehensive Coaching U and The Coaching Institute, are unique, exceptional, intelligent people, who want a program that moves rapidly. Our students range in age from 18 to 65 and over ¾ of our students are women.

People enroll for personal interest as well as their life and career well being, and to assist family, friends and loved ones in having happier lives and doing the work they love. We have recently noticed an increasing number of young people in their twenties, enrolling. These students are looking for a career that makes a difference and pays well. Many of our students are adults who want a career change shifting away from computers, corporations, teaching, health care, and other traditional fields. Still, others are personal trainers, yoga teachers, massage therapists, consultants, social workers, registered nurses, physicians or other health care practitioners asking to integrate our curriculum into their existing practice.

Our training is especially designed for those interested in working professionally in the booming field of life-coaching field, doing important work, and doing what they love while serving the world.

One of the gifts of life coaching is that you choose where to work. Many graduates work in their own home, while others rent office space to see clients. Many graduates work in settings with other professionals such as: chiropractors, personal trainers, therapists, mental health professionals or in gyms, day spas, yoga studios. Corporations enthusiastically invite graduates to be guest lecturers, paying them up to $1,000 to speak.

There is also the increasingly popular option of distance coaching, working with clients over the phone. The possibilities are unlimited. There is a great freedom in your ability to shape your practice into whatever works for you.

Another special treat in being a life coach, is that you can choose when you want to work. You are trained to earn $100-150 or more per hour. You may want to do this full time, or may want to supplement your current career by earning extra income in the evenings and on weekends. You design the schedule that fits for you. If you do want to leave your day JOB, the flexibility allows you to gradually ease yourself out of a currently unfulfilling “J-O-B”, with no financial stress. Ultimately, you have the choice to make this a part-time adventure or a full-time career.

Immediately after graduation, you will be charging $295 a month, or about $2,360 for an eight-month coaching program. By finding one new client a week for 50 weeks of the year, you will earn $118,000 annually… with two new clients a week, $236,000.

After gaining further experience and confidence, we encourage graduates to increase their monthly fees to $400 or $500 a month. While there are so many social workers, personal trainers, psychologists, massage therapists, chiropractors and other health providers, there is almost nobody who can effectively guide others to create extraordinary lives and work. All this at a time when more and more people are wondering: “What is my life about?”

Like starting any new business, building a successful life coaching practice requires two to three years of focused awareness, perseverance, commitment and motivation.

Graduates report receiving great respect from both clients and healthcare providers, they receive referrals, are taken seriously, and are eagerly invited to work in medical offices, chiropractor’s clinics, gyms, spas and other professional settings.

Coaching For Change

Let’s face it... no human being actually enjoys change. Most of us fear it. When you better understand what blocks you about change, it become easier to coach yourself (and others) through change.

Getting to know YOU!

Which of these statements apply to you?

1. I don’t want to make a change until I know all the details.

2. Until I get really fed up, I don’t make changes – I have to pushed internally or externally.

3. My fear of change overcomes me and I stop myself.

4. I avoid change.

5. I feel like a victim when I am forced to change.

6. I like things status quo.

7. I am hung up on how things use to be.

Now, here are some ways to move through change:

1. Think about a change you thought was bad, that had a positive result on your life and/or work.

2. Realize that change happens no matter what.

3. Focus on the changes you’ve experienced and how looking back they weren’t so bad and might even have ended up better.

4. When focusing on one major change in your life or work, keep other changes very minimal.

5. Look for the lessons as you change.

6. Find a coach or role model to assist you with change.

7. Ask friends, family, co-workers and others to assist you during change.

8. Look at the big picture and the end result and find possible positives from the change.

9. Find ways to feel more in control.

10. Ask questions and get facts.

11. Instead of how the past was, live in the moment which is.

Coach Yourself and Win

I always teach my coaching clients to coach themselves in between our sessions.

By changing their negative self talk, they are moving through emotional energy drains which hold them back and opening to allow in more of what they want in their lives and work.

Here are some tips you can put to use:

1. Always check in with yourself and ask how things are feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling. If they feel in alignment with your core values, all is well.
2. You may well ask, "Why do parents need to learn how to be parents?"

Change Your Life!

Change Your Thinking; Change Your Life!

When coaching clients I help them to focus more on creative, inspired solutions rather than the apparent problems and challenges of life and work. I do an exercise with them where we fun through solutions like watching them play out in a full feature film. There they are in Technicolor, right in front of our eyes. As the movie unfolds, we talk about positive ways to direct the movie. It is like a magic daydream about the future.

Try this for yourself:

Imagine the solutions and how much better things can be. See yourself and what you are wearing, doing, feeling, tasting, touching, hearing and smelling. Make it vivid and don’t rush.

As you imagine what you desire, take ONE action that brings you closer to your movie.

You really can create ALL you desire as what you think about and focus on is EXACTLY what you get.

Spice Up Your Life!

In my self-coaching program and my coach training programs, I encourage people to add some risk taking to their daily lives. Why? Each time you face what you fear, or what you can’t control, you grow as a person. By allowing yourself to be stretched, you evolve.

Several years ago I took clients to a ropes course and I also participated in the ropes course. I learned that by facing my own fear of heights, I no longer am paralyzed by that fear. I also learned that all fear is a story I have created.

I am not saying you have to jump out of plane. You might start your own business, or speak a truth you have been holding back, or live on raw foods for 10 days. Challenge yourself to work and play at your highest potential.

Need help? We have lots of resources at: http://www.terrilevine.com.

A Great Idea

A Great Idea for Network Marketers, Small Business Owners and Sales Professionals!

When I was number one in sales in the nation for the network marketing company I was with, people said I was lucky. When I took a start up company from zero to 11 million in one year, people said it was the right business at the right time. When I started my own coaching business and went from zero to $450,000 plus in a few months, people said I knew the right people.

It is none of that.

In fact, I’ve taught over 2000 network marketers, business owners and sales folks to do what I do.

Here is a tip you can apply right away from my system:

Have a contact manager party. Everyone is invited to bring his or her contact manager with him or her. Each person finds out what the others at the party do for business. Each person attending tries to match up those attending with some of their contacts.

Then, right at the party, they write a note of introduction and sends it off to their contacts, encouraging them to contact the service professional ASAP.

Have fun and build your business.
