Going To Florida

Well it ends up I leave to go to Florida to testify against a vendor who is on trial and as a former customer who got ripped off, I am headed there. I will be gone for awhile so I'll chat about it when I get back.

It feels a bit surreal to me- getting calls from the FBI and now going to meet w/ Federal Prosecutors to prepare to be on the stand as a witness.

I am trying to make this a situation I can get value from and already decided to go with that spirit... a journey and my role is to find value.

Anyway, it feels odd... stay tuned:)

Worked Himself To Death

We had terribly sad news this week. One of my personal assistants, who I adore and is one of the people I have the highest respect and admiration for, informed me that her husband's nephew died tragically. He was working like mad and recently became a partner in a restaurant (which had standing room only every night!) and he came home late at night and fell asleep with his car running in the garage.

I feel shock and sadness and can't understand how something like this can happen. I have faith in a higher power yet am still baffled by this event. To loose a young life from overwork and exhaustion....

I hold light and love for his family and hope the memories of this young man will bring the family much comfort over time.

Back from Vacation

Mark and I had a nice few days away. We did end up going to Vegas after all, so he did get to enjoy March Madness in Vegas. I didn't gamble much. Mostly walked, worked out, got facials and massages and read and relaxed! Fully immersed myself in the experience. We had lots of time to chat and cuddle and just be together. One night was a hoot... we went to listen to a great band that later brought up a super great Elvis impersonator and then a guy who did the most amazing Jim Morrison - it was almost freaky!

Back home about 2 in the morning and excited to be back at work with my wonderful students and clients.

Great break and great to return to the work I so enjoy!

Letting Frustration Go

Technology has not been working quite right these past few weeks. I downloaded a software program that crashed my hard drive and downloaded it on not just on one computer but both of them! So, my software to synch my phone and calendar information that was on these computers that was shot. My microphone for podcasts, shot. Today I found out hours of recordings I did, also shot:(

I began to feel deep frustration and then decided to quickly shift and let go of this. I changed my physical state and my energy and began to relax and to choose another way to feel. I decided to let in peace and ease. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I am so thankful I learned coaching skills nearly a decade ago as I handle life and chaos in a new and different way from my old pattern. I let go of negative energy fast and allow in the feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings I want.

This is another reason I want to teach everyone on the planet coaching skills. It is life changing.

Prosperity

I learned about 10 years ago to live with a prosperity mindset. This means seeing money as something that there is much of and understanding money is a good thing. I don't want money for money's sake. I do want money so I can make contributions to society and to family and to also have the safety net if some emergency occurred.

I like money and believe money is not a bad thing. Money is something the Creator gave us to say, "go forth and enjoy your experience on this planet... soak it all in!".

I find there are many people in a lack mentality and who don't live an abundant life. They have money beliefs which limit them and get in their way... things like, "I am not good enough"... "Money is the root of all evil"... "People with money aren't nice"... Believing such stories keeps them tied in lack. The never have money and even when they get some money, they quickly blow it so they can get right back to their story of their is never enough and they are not deserving.

I look at the world as an abundant place and fully believe in an abundance of money, health, love, joy, friendship, etc. I believe that is why I have a life filled with the abundance of these things. You get what you focus on. If your dominant thought is you are "poor" or you can't have a lot of money, that is just what you will get.

So, my thought for the day is to remind you to shift your story if you want something new to show up and stop blaming the world and others. It is YOU who creates your life experience based on what you think!

Creating Positive Change

I stopped at a store last evening to pick up something I need for my trip out of town later this week and observed a young child with her parents. The child was acting out and struggling and wanted to run free in the mall and was yelling and creating a major fuss. What was interesting to me, is that of the 10 strategies to effectively change child behavior, these parents had all 10 mixed up - hence the child continued on.

I won't go in to all the details and do cover it in my parent coaching certification ecourse, but here are some of them:

There was no good reason for the child to stop this behavior.
The parents tried to use rewards, which don't change behaviors.
The child wasn't being told what the bad behavior was.

I know from working with parents and children for over 25 years, that you can easily and effortless teach a child to behave well and it stems from helping a child see the consequences for "bad" behavior.

I felt bad as these parents were frustrated and also showing anger towards each other. If only they had the parent coaching assistance to set limits on bad behavior!

Got my passion for making sure that more people have these skills burning...

Always Coaching

This weekend I had the joy of seeing my sister and her family and going to my nieces wedding showers and well as my nephews play! In addition to having fun, laughing and being in awe of what a fabulous singer and actor my nephew is, what I loved most was the connection with family and excitement of the upcoming wedding!

It was interesting that during a shower game where we each had to write a recipe for a successful marriage, I wrote from my coaching perspective things like: respect, honor, feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings, no judgment, etc. It is such a part of who I am and how I think.

The profession of coaching has such impact on clients and on us, as the coaches! How lucky and blessed we are to do the work we love, love the work we do, make a fantastic living while serving others and improving our own lives!

I am thankful for my wonderful family and for my wonderful way of making a living in this world.

Computer Weirdness

Computers really baffle me! I love them and hate them. The latest is my computer microphone picks up the strangest buzzing in the background for no reason. I tried a few mics and the noise is always there. It is so frustrating.

Then yesterday my computer stopped backing up so the tape drive isn't working and today my antivirus program isn't working and my hot synch for my treo is adding all kinds of bizarre files.

Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!

Trial

About 8 years ago I hired a company to create a virtual university for http://www. ComprehensiveCoachingU.com and they took my money (a lot of it!) and never did any of the work. They would just keep meeting with me and having calls with me and sending me work plans. I gave them a full year of this nonsense and then got pretty upset.

They then asked me to sign a new contract and wanted MORE money for the job!

I never got my money back and found out their company was in trouble with the FBI and that the folks were on trial in Florida.

I have been reading local papers about the trial and these folks seem criminal in their actions.

I was contacted several years ago by the FBI as they seized the computers and documents of this company and my emails showed up and my contract.

Now, the FBI wants me to testify in this case. I don't have a choice as they served me with a summons. The deal is that for me, the past IS the past and I don't live there and don't spend time or energy focused on what is NOT working.

What a way to suck my energy and take me away from serving people! They wanted me to come now and to miss my niece's bridal showers and I don't care if they come arrest me, my family comes FIRST always!

Society loves to focus on the past and my choice is to focus on the present - Rachel's showers. I'll be feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling what I want to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel even if I am testifying!

I choose to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel peace and to know all IS well!

Spring!

I love spring time and even though we've only had a few warm days so far in the Philly area, I took full advantage of them! I put down the top on my convertible, went to the park and got in about an hour walk feeling the sun, enjoying the fresh air and listening to the birds. Not much greenery yet but man I soaked in nature!

We are expected to have another cold front (back in the teens!) and I am so glad I took advantage of the warm weather. I try to get out every day and walk in the park or walk in my area with my dog, Sheba, just to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel at one with the Universe and make the connection with the beauty of the world.

We are blessed to have this wonderful planet we live on!

Summing Up Last Week

Last week was so typical of life with chaos at every turn. I met new people, got new clients, found an awesome place for Learning Spa, connected with new friends, spent time laughing and playing with friends and family and had relaxtion time with Mark. I worked out... worked on my books... finished up 3 products and started 2 more... developed a new program... invited people to speak at Learning Spa... taught for University of Masters... worked on my podcast... handled getting complete with someone... hired a new software company for my database and marketing... got excited about my niece's upcoming bridal shower... heard sad news about another family member... called my great nephew to wish him a happy birthday... spent a night at a friend's home... read... did BrainSpeak... got served with papers from the FBI to testify in Florida against a vendor who ripped me off almost 8 years ago...

So, it was up and down and here and there... just got to love it! Life is chaos and chaos is life... hang on for the ride and enjoy what it brings... I appreciate being alive and even the downs. Here's to more UPS this week:)

What Blind Dates Have In Common With Success...

Hello everyone,

I just received this interesting note from someone who joined my coach training program and I thought what she wrote of her experience was so poignant and happens to us all - but we just don't talk about it - that I thought it should be shared. Her letter is below:

Dear Sharon and Terri,

I just wanted to tell you both that I really appreciated your group coaching call today. When I found your website, I KNEW this was the right program - it's "touchy/feely" (hands-on) which I love! But as soon as I signed up, I went into the fear of I made the wrong decision. I had gotten caught up in a fear of - did I make the right decision - will I have the "right" credentials when I'm done, etc.... I have done some more reading about who you both are and I realize that its just my fear. A fear of being "duped".

Its happened before, recently. I know I haven't been. I know you guys are really who you say you are and are helping each of us immensely. I have all the faith in the world that you and Terri are genuine and this is a very special and unique opportunity. My energy is shifted and it feels SO good!!! I thank you for the opportunity to bring up that fear and work through it. Thank you for the wonderful mentors who I could go right from the training call to talk to and discuss my fears. My mentor helps me get back on track.

I'm just extremely grateful for this opportunity. The above was probably rambling, but I needed to share. I know this is the career I am passionate about - I know its my life purpose.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Christine
(New Life Coach)

I wanted to share Christine's letter as we thought many of you may be going
through the same challenge.

It's important to know that when faced with new directions we all experience fear. Mostly it's fear of change or of the unknown. We want to protect ourselves from possible pain. This is all healthy. What is not healthy is being halted or stopped by fear. When we focus more on what can go wrong, we often miss out on major life shifting opportunities that are just waiting for us to take a step towards them.

Think about going on a blind date - just as an example. Sure, you can think
about all the ways it could go wrong. But maybe you will get more out of that blind date than you expect. Maybe it will teach you something great about yourself. Maybe it will help connect you to the real person of your dreams or a new hobby or perhaps you will just laugh all night long. If you let fear stop you from ever going on dates then will your love life ever improve? Will Miss or Mr. Right be able to find you if you're hiding in your living room behind your TV? No! In order for our lives to change for the better we have to take the "risk" and open ourselves up for opportunity.

We have to be willing "participants" - not sit on the side lines.

If we've been let down in love or even feel very "duped" by love - is that a good enough reason to never love again?

If we've taken some opportunities in the past in business that haven't worked out for us the way we expected, then does that mean we should never be open to new opportunities ever again? Does that mean that every new opportunity will have the same result?

No - of course not.

Those that are "lucky in love" or "lucky in life", are different from others in one respect: they just make themselves open to new opportunities and they act when something comes along that has potential for greatness. They never know any more than you if that opportunity will be great - but they can be sure that nothing will change unless they do something different and try it.

Here's another nugget to ponder - FEAR looks tall and scary when it is in front of us. But something magical happens when we step in front of it.

Looking back...fear looks ridiculous and silly and we wonder why we were afraid of it in the first place.

So today...where will you be standing? In front of fear, feeling stuck and terrified or looking back at it and smiling?

It's In YOUR Mind

I will tell you upfront I didn't always have an attitude that was positive. In fact I worried a lot about the future, and was great at thinking about all the problems I "might" have. I changed this attitude when I learned the Law of Attraction and how thoughts create what we exerience. It took almost a full year for me to shift this on a deep level where I think this way naturally and focus on thinking and choosing the thoughts I DO want and only choose to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling good! I am human so at times, sure, I mess up. I don't need to get it perfect. I am human.

I spoke to 4 or 5 people in the past two days who are not my coaching clients and not my playmates in business and ALL of them came from worry about the future and filled the conversation with what is not working and what their problems are and compliants and what might go wrong. I listened to their negative self talk, their inner beliefs, their fears and felt pained for them. To live in this energy must be depleting and tiring and draining. I want for people to know that in our short life experience we get to choose what we want to feel and be and do and have. I say to my client's all the time, "How do you intend to experience the rest of your life?"... just to remind them in each nano second we have the choice to think what we desire.

I realized how blessed I am to have learned coaching skills so that I am not stuck in a place of negative energy and also realize the contrast I felt when engaged with people who haven't yet evolved and don't live by Law of Attraction. Just grateful I am on a different path and journey and I send them love and light to find an easier, freer and better feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling way.

Women and Business

As a woman business owner I read alot of information and articles about women in business. Having come from a corporate male dominated environment in a "high power" position and giving that up to have a life, I know what women in business want. In my experience coaching over 300 women in business, we want to create businesses that reflect our life missions and purposes and we want flexiblity and balance in our lives. We want more connection and more time to do yoga, or take walks, or play with our kids, or clean our homes, or whatever it is we do.

Women are starting home based and other businesses at a rapid pace and are great in business! They do lack some key business fundamentals that typcially our male counterparts have been taught that we have not accessed.

I have a deep passion to help women succeed in their businesses and do what they love and love what they do while serving the world. I want for them to succeed and make money and to have a viable, solid business. My goal is to be sure women have the necessary tools and skills to be super successful.

I decided to teach what I know to women in business or those who want to be or MIGHT want to be in business. I hope you'll come out and learn from me. My passion is to share my resources and knowledge with you so you can do more of what you want and get paid well for doing it while making a valuable contribution to society through your business. Stop the Certification Madness

I am constantly amazed at how coaches get trapped into thinking they need to have some initials after their names to draw clients to them or for the coach to believe they are a great coach. I know coaches who get great coach training and are not only the top coaches in the industry, they are the real money making coaches, and none of them give a hoot about what it says after their name. I am really tired of the coaching industry taking the focus away from learning coaching skills and learning the skills to be a highly paid coach and making it about getting some silly initials after your name!

One of my clients said she just puts, MSU after her name, for Make Stuff Up! That really is the essence of saying, it doesn't matter! I have been coaching for nearly a decade and work with Fortune 100 companies, clients around the world and over 2,000 coaching clients and not ONE ever asked about initials. They ask where I got my training and they want to know what I am an expert at and how I can help them - THEY have the right focus and ask the right questions.

Michael Port and I were speaking recently and he agrees with my view and he said in the 3 years he has been coaching and the 500k of income he has generated as a coach he has never been asked about his certification and he has none and is one of the greatest coaches on the planet and makes a great income, too!

Coaches, stop procrastinating with your careers and get real. Consultants don't need inititals, we need great training and knowledge of how to sell what we do.

Live Events!!

I have had a great few days coaching clients, writing, doing phone seminars and interviews and working both ON and IN my business! The next two days with be spent with some of my super star Field Trip clients doing a live two day event where they will get high level training and kick their butt (with love, of course!) coaching. I so enjoy this balance and love when live energy comes together and connects. I am so excited and looking foward to this that I barely slept a wink last night and woke up at the crack of dawn!
